(HNMO) - On the afternoon of May 16, a working delegation of the Hanoi Journalists Association led by Chairman of the Hanoi Journalists Association To Quang Phan visited and worked with the Border Guard Command of Kien Giang province.

At the meeting, Colonel Huynh Van Dong, Political Commissar of the Kien Giang Provincial Border Guard Command, informed: Kien Giang has a land border with Cambodia, a large sea area, and more than 140 islands. The unit has synchronously deployed professional measures, proactively grasped the situation, and fought against all types of crimes. In 2022, the unit carried out mass mobilization, gratitude, and social security work with a total value of 3.9 billion VND; built and handed over 7 "Comrades' Houses", 2 policy houses, 2 "Military-Civilian Tet 2023" houses; effectively implemented the program "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of Border Guard stations"...

Hanoi Journalists Association presented the painting of Hoan Kiem Lake to the Border Guard Command of Kien Giang province.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Hanoi Journalists Association To Quang Phan thanked the unit for creating conditions and helping the delegation to learn about the reality at the two border posts of Phu My and Tay Yen. From this field trip, reporters from traditional agencies of Hanoi will continue to write articles contributing to the propaganda of protecting national border sovereignty in the new situation...

Previously, on May 15, the delegation visited and worked at Phu My Border Guard Station (Border Guard of Kien Giang province).

Leaders of the Hanoi Journalists Association and representatives of the Capital Labor Newspaper presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Thi Hol.

Awarding scholarships "Helping children go to school" to students supported by Phu My Border Guard Station.

During the visit and working session with Phu My Border Guard Station, the leaders of the Hanoi Journalists Association and representatives of the Capital Labor Newspaper presented a gift of 10 million VND to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Thi Hol in Giang Thanh District, Kien Giang Province. Mother Hol is a Khmer woman whose husband and son were martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the resistance war against the US to save the country. Also during the visit and working session, representatives of the Capital Women's Newspaper presented 3 gifts to students of Phu My Border Guard Station who are helping in the program "Helping you go to school".
