The Provincial Farmers' Association guides people on techniques for composting straw into organic fertilizer.
The program includes activities: Propaganda, instructing members and farmers to treat stubble with biological products, composting straw into organic fertilizer in the fields; collecting plastic waste, pesticide packaging and launching the model "Clean fields, clean production" in village 13, Kim Phu commune.
Through this activity, members, farmers and people will understand the techniques of processing by-products in agricultural production, implement and apply them in the fields; build a model of "Clean fields, clean production", contributing to environmental protection, reducing costs and improving the efficiency of agricultural production.
Tuyen Quang was selected by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union as one of 15 provinces to implement the project "Propaganda and mobilization of farmers to treat waste in Vietnam, contributing to the international community's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions". In Tuyen Quang, the project was implemented in 9 communes in 3 districts of Yen Son, Chiem Hoa and Tuyen Quang City. The project has developed 6 application techniques in treating agricultural by-products: fermentation of crop by-products for animal feed; chicken raising on thick biological bedding; composting of organic fertilizer from crop by-products; stubble treatment techniques in the field; calcium worm raising techniques; earthworm raising techniques. Currently, these techniques have been widely developed throughout the province and have been effectively applied by many farmers.
