Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court has completed preparations for the first-instance trial of 254 defendants in the case of irregularities that occurred at the Vietnam Registering Agency, 11 vehicle inspection centers in Ho Chi Minh City, and 3 vehicle inspection centers in Long An, Ben Tre, and Soc Trang provinces.
This trial has an exceptionally large number of defendants, with 254 accused; more than 200 lawyers and over 60 victims, including individuals and organizations, are participating.
Notably, the trial will be conducted both in person and online at two locations: the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court headquarters and Chi Hoa Detention Center (T30), Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Mr. Pham Ngoc Duy, Chief of the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court, depending on the proceedings of the trial, when questioning about a particular group of offenses, the Trial Panel will make a prior announcement to request the relevant defendants to be brought to the courtroom at the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court. Defendants who are in temporary detention and are not yet included in the group of offenses being questioned will follow the trial proceedings via video link at the T30 detention center. Defendants who are out on bail are required to be present in person at the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court throughout the trial.
The trial is scheduled for October 18th, presided over by Judge Huynh Van Truc (Deputy Chief Judge of the Criminal Court). Representing the People's Procuracy at the trial are prosecutors: Tran Thi Lien (Deputy Head of the Department for Exercising the Right to Prosecute, Supervising Investigations, and Supervising Trials of Criminal Cases related to Economics and Corruption), Nguyen Vu Mai Diem, Le Truong Ha Linh, and Pham Van Hien.
