More than 95,000 candidates registered for the Hanoi National University's capacity assessment exam

The registration period for the HSA assessment exam is still open, but more than 95,000 candidates have successfully registered, accounting for 99% of the expected seats and the highest ever.

On the morning of March 6, Hanoi National University opened the registration portal for the second HSA assessment test for candidates to choose from three sessions taking place in May and June. The expected number of seats for these sessions is about 51,800. The test locations are located in 11 provinces and cities including Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh , Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Thao, Director of the Examination Center, Hanoi National University, said that including 6 HSA exam sessions this year, 95,000 candidates have completed choosing their exam sessions, reaching 99% of the expected seats.

"After just over an hour of opening the registration portal today, almost all exam locations in Hanoi were full. There are only vacant seats left in the provinces," Mr. Thao informed.

Compared to last year, the number of candidates registered for the exam has increased by more than 5,000, and is expected to increase in the coming days because according to the design, the exam can accommodate about 103,000 seats. This is the highest number ever.

According to Mr. Thao, candidates registered from 58 provinces and cities nationwide. Localities with large numbers of candidates are Hanoi (36%), Nam Dinh (6.7%), Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An (5.1-5.8%).

During the second registration period, network congestion still occurred when there was a time when nearly 84,000 candidates were accessing the site at the same time. However, the interruption did not last as long as on February 18. After only about 15 minutes, parents and candidates were able to log in.

The registration portal for the competency assessment test will remain open until the number of candidates is sufficient or until it closes 14-18 days before the official test date. The Hanoi National University Examination Center will notify the candidate's registration number, room, and test location on the candidate's account 7 days before the test.

The HSA was organized by Hanoi National University from 2015 and 2016, then stopped until 2021 to reopen. The HSA exam is currently done on a computer, in 195 to 199 minutes, with a maximum score of 150. The test consists of three parts with objective multiple-choice questions (choosing answers), fill-in-the-blank questions in the fields of Mathematics (50 questions, 75 minutes), Literature - Language (50 questions, 60 minutes), Natural and Social Sciences (50 questions, 60 minutes). Parts 1 and 3 will have 1-3 additional test questions, which are not scored.

Candidates can check their test scores and receive their certificates after 14 days. Currently, 90 schools have said they use the results of the Hanoi National University's aptitude test for admission. Of these, 17 military schools are using this test for the first time.

Last year, more than 90,000 candidates registered, the number of candidates was 87,000, the valedictorian scored 133/150 points. The minimum score for receiving applications by this method of schools is commonly from 70 to 85 points.

There are currently more than 10 exams nationwide to assess capacity and thinking. Of these, the exam of the two national universities is the largest in scale. Ho Chi Minh City National University said that in the first round of the exam, more than 96,000 candidates registered, also a record high so far.
