Successfully detonated a 340 kg bomb found on the bank of Lam River.

On October 16, the Engineering Department, Nghe An Provincial Military Command, the Defense Command of Region 5 - Anh Son and the Military Command of Do Luong Commune coordinated to successfully detonate a bomb weighing about 340kg.

Earlier, at 2:30 PM on October 14th, the Military Command of Do Luong commune received a report from residents about the discovery of an unexploded bomb on the right bank of the Lam River (more than 200 meters from Do Luong bridge) in Dang Son hamlet, Do Luong commune.

Upon receiving the report, the Military Command of Do Luong commune dispatched forces to cordon off and protect the scene, coordinating with the Engineering Corps, the Provincial Military Command, and the Defense Command of Area 5 - Anh Son to destroy the bomb.

According to the Nghe An Provincial Military Command, this is a demolition bomb, designated MK-82, with a diameter of 35cm, a length of 155cm, and weighing approximately 340kg. The detonator is still intact and it remains from the war.

Immediately afterwards, the engineering corps neutralized the fuse and, in coordination with the Command of Defense Zone 5 – Anh Son and the Military Command of Do Luong commune, organized the transportation of the bomb to Hamlet 1, Nam Son, Do Luong commune for successful disposal, ensuring absolute safety for people and property.
