Following the opening session, the 7th National Assembly of Cambodia held its first meeting under the chairmanship of Samdech Heng Samrin to carry out the process of declaring the parliamentary status of each member of the new legislative body and to approve the Rules of Procedure of the new National Assembly. In the afternoon of the same day, all members of parliament will take their oaths of office at the Royal Palace.

After the new term of Parliament officially takes effect, the King appoints a prime minister to form a new government based on the proposal of the political party with the most seats in Parliament.

On the morning of August 22, the first session of the 7th National Assembly of Cambodia continued its work with the election of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and the leadership of the specialized committees of the National Assembly, and conducted a vote of confidence in the new Royal Government.
