Illegal exploitation of hot mineral water fined over 600 million VND

Pursuant to Decision No. 153/QD-XPHC issued by the People's Committee of Phu Tho province on January 23, 2025 on administrative sanctions for violations in the field of minerals, Mr. Ho Ngoc Hai (born in 1980, residing in Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi ) was fined 617 million VND for illegally exploiting 5,670 m3 of hot mineral water in Thanh Thuy district.

Specifically, the violation is stipulated in Point c, Clause 2, Article 47, Decree 36/2020/ND-CP, dated March 24, 2020 of the Government regulating administrative sanctions for violations in the field of water and mineral resources (amended and supplemented by Decree No. 04/2022/ND-CP dated January 6, 2022 of the Government).

This man was subject to an administrative fine of 400 million VND along with the confiscation of the administrative violation vehicle, including: 1 used PENTAX Model 4ST 24-26 3Phase 50Hz 7.5Kw submersible pump, 4 used metal water pipes with a total length of 20.1m and a diameter of 6cm, electric wires, 8,144m of HDPE90 plastic water pipes with a diameter of 75cm.

At the same time, Mr. Ho Ngoc Hai was forced to implement solutions to improve and restore the environment of the exploited area, bring the exploited area to a safe state and pay back more than 217 million VND, equal to the value of the evidence of minerals obtained from the violation. The total fine is more than 617 million VND.
