Rewarding the brave man who saved a drowning student

On the afternoon of August 7, the People's Committee of Cam Binh commune (Ha Tinh province) held a ceremony to commend and award a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee to Mr. Vo Van Phan (born in 1972, residing in Binh Vinh village) for his brave and timely actions in rescuing people in distress at sea.

Previously, on the afternoon of August 5, while swimming with his family at Hoi Tien beach (Dong Tien commune), Mr. Phan discovered two middle school students swept away by waves about 300 meters, struggling in deep water, calling for help.

Immediately, Mr. Phan swam out to rescue, quickly approached and separated the two children. One child was able to swim to shore, the other child was taken by Mr. Phan to a nearby fishing boat, ensuring the safety of both children.

In recognition of his brave actions, the People's Committee of Cam Binh commune commended and unexpectedly awarded a certificate of merit to Mr. Vo Van Phan. The local government assessed this as a typical example, spreading the spirit of chivalry, ready to save people in trouble.
