On April 1st, the People's Committee of Kon Tum province announced that it is coordinating with investors and relevant departments to expedite the completion of procedures and documentation for a wind power project in Mang Den, Kon Plong district – a place that is attracting tourists from all over.
The Kon Plông Wind Power Plant project received an investment approval decision from the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee, with the investor being Kon Plông Wind Energy Co., Ltd. The project is located in Măng Đen town and Măng Cành commune, Kon Plông district.
The project is expected to utilize a total area of 66.04 hectares with a total investment of approximately 3,500 billion VND. The 103.5 MW wind power plant project is a Class I energy project, and its feasibility study report was assessed by the specialized construction agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade .
Kon Tum province expects that the Kon Plông wind power plant project, once operational, will contribute to the province's budget revenue. The project's implementation must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
The Kon Tum provincial government has requested relevant departments, units, and investors to conduct on-site surveys, mark each wind turbine tower, and survey to determine the power lines in order to prepare a project for submission to the Provincial People's Committee, which will then report to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for appraisal and submission to the Prime Minister for approval as per regulations.
After the Prime Minister approved the planning for the Mang Den tourist area, which includes a wind power project, the next steps will be implemented.
