Control of anti-corruption power

Regarding voters' concerns about the increasingly negative anti-corruption work discovering more and more cases, "each case is bigger than the last", the President analyzed: "Now we are determined to do it, so we will discover big cases. We also boldly make everything public, so voters and people know the information".

According to the President, recently there have been cases that voters are concerned about, including inspection, examination and supervision teams involved in corruption and negativity. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Head of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negativity, has repeatedly directed this issue, that is, it is necessary to fight against negativity and corruption in anti-corruption and negativity agencies. This is an important issue that will certainly receive attention from the Party and the State.

The President informed that to specify that direction, the Party has recently issued important documents. These are documents on controlling the power to prevent corruption and negativity in the work of investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of judgments; controlling the power to prevent corruption and negativity in the work of inspection, examination, and auditing. This is the content to strengthen the control of power, prevent corruption and negativity in the fields and agencies mentioned above as General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has directed.

The President also said that Da Nang City is very active in resolving voters' petitions. During the meetings with voters before and after the session, the President received very detailed reports on voters' petitions and instructions from Da Nang City authorities at all levels. However, there are tasks that depend on the current mechanism that Da Nang City alone cannot resolve. The President said that Da Nang has made efforts and persistently coordinated with relevant central agencies to resolve major issues. If these issues are resolved, they will satisfy voters' opinions and at the same time contribute to promoting Da Nang's development.

"There are many problems that the city really wants to solve for development. I strongly support and share with the city's leaders...", said the President.

Regarding the education stream from junior high school, the President assessed that this is an important content to carry out fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training in line with current trends, so that each child can develop his or her strengths and abilities. The President said that those who have good learning conditions, are good at studying, are studious, and have talents in some fields can continue to study at a higher level, go to university or higher. Those who have conditions and abilities that do not meet the requirements for higher education can be transferred to another direction and become useful people, taking care of themselves, their families, and society according to their abilities and capacities.

On the same day, December 5, towards the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2023), President Vo Van Thuong visited and worked with the Command of Military Region 5. Speaking at the working session, evaluating the results of the 2023 defense work of Military Region 5, President Vo Van Thuong said that, together with the entire army, the armed forces of Military Region 5 have focused on synchronous, tight, and drastic implementation, striving to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

Earlier, the same morning, President Vo Van Thuong visited and inspected training and combat readiness at Armored Brigade 574 (Military Region 5).
