First paragliding performance held on Tam Giang lagoon

On May 23rd, Mr. Vo Viet Duc, Head of the Culture and Sports Department of Quang Dien district (Thua Thien Hue province), announced that the locality will for the first time organize paragliding demonstrations on Tam Giang lagoon and local beaches to serve residents and tourists. This is a new activity under the "Tam Giang Water Festival" organized by the Quang Dien District People's Committee from June 8th to 10th, 2024.

Accordingly, during the three days of the festival, locals and tourists will be able to watch paragliding demonstrations by pilots who are training and participating in activities at paragliding clubs nationwide. At the event, visitors will also have the opportunity to directly experience paragliding with pilots. This activity is being organized for the first time on Tam Giang Lagoon with the hope of contributing to stimulating tourism and attracting visitors to the "Tam Giang Water Festival".

Quang Dien has Tam Giang lagoon with many beautiful sceneries, attracting tourists.

It is known that the "Tam Giang Waves" Festival is an activity in response to the Hue Festival 2024. The festival includes a series of unique cultural and tourism events, aiming to honor cultural and historical values ​​in the district; introduce and promote the unique values ​​of the land and people of Quang Dien to domestic and foreign friends.

This is also an opportunity for cooperation, promoting the development of services and tourism to become a key economic sector of Quang Dien district. Thereby, contributing to enriching the cultural and spiritual life, improving the level of cultural enjoyment for local people in particular and domestic and foreign tourists in general.

At the "Tam Giang Waves" Festival in 2024, in addition to the paragliding performance, there are also other activities taking place at the same time such as: Fair combined with a market to bring Vietnamese goods to the countryside; Food Fair; Hoang Mai Hue Fair; Quang Dien Countryside Market; "Quang Dien Beauty" Photo Exhibition; Petanque Tournament; Beach Soccer Tournament; Beach Volleyball Tournament; Traditional Wrestling Tournament; Traditional Boat Racing Tournament; Bai Choi Festival; Launching the response to the beach tourism season.

In addition, visitors can immerse themselves in the lively and exciting atmosphere of folk games such as stick pushing, blindfolded pot smashing, monkey bridge walking, sack racing, or paddleboarding to catch clams on Tam Giang lagoon… Especially, the opening night art program of the "Tam Giang Water Festival" on the evening of June 8th will help locals and tourists better understand the land and people of Quang Dien.

The leader of the Department of Culture and Information of Quang Dien district said that it is estimated that there will be about 20,000 - 30,000 tourists coming to Quang Dien during the "Tam Giang Waves" Festival in 2024.
