On September 10th, in Hanoi , Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) and the Vietnam Health Workers' Union signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement on implementing a "Welfare Program," providing banking and financial products and services to union members in the health sector, contributing to caring for the interests of union members and workers in the health sector nationwide.
Attending the event, on behalf of the Vietnam Health Workers' Union were Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen – Permanent Deputy Minister, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Ha Anh Duc – Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment, and Mr. Nguyen Tuong Son – Director of the Planning and Finance Department. On behalf of the Ministry of National Defense's Trade Union was Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duc – Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Head of the National Defense Trade Union Committee. On behalf of the Vietnam Health Workers' Union were Ms. Pham Thanh Binh – Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, President of the Vietnam Health Workers' Union, representatives from various departments of the Vietnam Health Workers' Union, and leaders from Bach Mai Hospital, Viet Duc Hospital, and the Hanoi Health Sector Trade Union.
On MB's side, the signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Pham Nhu Anh – Member of the Board of Directors and General Director, Mr. Tran Minh Dat – Deputy General Director, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc – Member of the Executive Board, Chairwoman of the Trade Union, and representatives from several departments at the bank's headquarters.
Through the agreement between MB and the Vietnam Health Workers' Union, union members and healthcare workers will enjoy preferential benefits such as: a reduction in loan interest rates of 1% to 2% depending on the credit product and loan terms up to 30 years; an additional interest rate of 0.2% to 0.9% on short-term deposits depending on the period; a 20% discount on car insurance; free issuance and a lifetime annual fee of VND 220,000 for credit cards, free maintenance, and a VND 50,000 fee when closing accounts for individuals and organizations. Union branches affiliated with the Vietnam Health Workers' Union will also benefit from preferential deposit interest rates and insurance participation. Conversely, MB Group's staff and union members will receive the best healthcare advice and care when visiting central and local medical facilities.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Permanent Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen, highly appreciated the proactive approach of the Vietnam Health Workers' Union and the support and cooperation of MB. “The cooperation between the two units is a vivid testament to their efforts to bring legitimate and long-term benefits to union members, healthcare workers, and MB union members. This is a new aspect of the cooperation between the two units to maximize the strengths of each unit and bring practical benefits to their members,” the Ministry of Health leader stated.
Sharing his thoughts on the cooperation agreement with the Vietnam Health Workers' Union, Mr. Pham Nhu Anh – Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of MB – said: “MB wishes to implement specific and practical programs to support union members in the health sector. In addition, MB will leverage its technological strengths to contribute to promoting administrative reforms and streamlining hospital fee payment procedures at hospitals, providing a more convenient experience for both hospital staff and patients.”
Also at the event, the leaders of the Ministry of Health highly appreciated and thanked MB for accompanying the Ministry of Health and its affiliated units in many social charity activities, supporting hundreds of billions of VND during the Covid-19 pandemic to purchase vaccines and treat Covid-19. According to the Permanent Deputy Minister of Health, one of MB's strengths in the healthcare sector is the successful implementation of a solution for paying hospital fees via dynamic QR codes integrated into medical examination forms, contributing to the Ministry of Health's Plan 1190/KH-BYT dated September 10, 2022, on promoting the implementation of cashless payment for medical examination and treatment services.
The signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Medical Trade Union and MB Bank was a highlight event aimed at celebrating the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2025) and the 30th anniversary of MB Bank's founding (November 4, 1994 - November 4, 2024). On this occasion, MB Bank also presented the Vietnam Medical Trade Union with a donation of 100 million VND for the "Protecting White Blouses Program".
