This activity is part of an emergency support project implemented with UNICEF's support.

During the training course, central education consultants selected by UNICEF delivered many useful modules related to children's education, especially school mental health care for students in disadvantaged areas and areas affected by natural disasters.

The training course included 56 participants, comprising specialists from education and training departments, school administrators, and teachers, with a focus on ethnic minority boarding schools severely affected by the remnants of Typhoon No. 3 in 2024.

The training modules also train trainees in supporting children in crisis situations; guiding them in psychosocial support techniques, group counseling, individual counseling, and classroom activities for students after psychological trauma from natural disasters, epidemics, and stresses in life and studies, helping them to confidently share their anxieties and questions with teachers and friends so that every day at school is truly a joyful and happy day.

During the training course, participants received two days of hands-on training and one day of practical experience at Nam Luc Ethnic Boarding Primary School (Bac Ha), an area heavily affected by the remnants of Typhoon No. 3.
Reportedly, the UNICEF-supported emergency assistance project in Lao Cai consists of three components: education, health, and agriculture . The education component comprises five major activities, all focused on disadvantaged areas affected by natural disasters.
