This is an activity within the Emergency Support Project supported by UNICEF.

At the training course, the CentralEducation Consultant selected by UNICEF conveyed to the trainees many useful modules related to children's education, especially school mental health care aimed at students in disadvantaged areas and areas affected by natural disasters.

The training course was attended by 56 trainees who are specialists from the Department of Education and Training, managers and teachers from schools, focusing on the group of ethnic minority boarding schools that were heavily affected by the circulation of storm No. 3 in 2024.

The training courses also train students in supporting children in crisis situations; instructing them in psychosocial support techniques, group counseling, individual counseling and classroom activities for students after psychological trauma due to natural disasters, epidemics, stress in life and study, helping them to be bold and confident in sharing their worries and questions with teachers and friends so that every day at school is truly a joyful and happy day.


During the training, trainees had 2 days of direct training and 1 day of practical experience at Nam Luc Primary Ethnic Minority School (Bac Ha), which was heavily affected by the circulation of storm No. 3.
It is known that the UNICEF-supported Emergency Support Project in Lao Cai includes 3 modules on education, health, and agriculture . The education component has 5 major activities, all of which are directed towards disadvantaged areas affected by natural disasters.
