Mr. Le Quang Trung - Vice President of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA).
In particular, Mr. Trung highly appreciated and thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its support to logistics businesses in international cooperation, development, and expansion of transportation networks.
Typical examples include supporting the Vietnam Maritime Corporation ( VIMC ) in working with the ADANI Group (India); and connecting MSC shipping line for investment in developing the Can Gio port ecosystem.
Notably, thanks to the active coordination and support of the Vietnamese Embassy in India, VIMC successfully opened and effectively operated Vietnam's first intra-Asia container shipping route, connecting Hai Phong port to Kolkata, and an Indian inland shipping route from Kolkata port to Katupali.
The Vice President of VLA expressed his hope that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassies, as well as relevant ministries and agencies, would continue to pay attention to and support businesses in the logistics sector, focusing on developing logistics centers that enjoy preferential treatment such as FTZs (free trade zones) in markets like Europe, India, and China. He also hoped for support for Vietnam's export and import supply chain.
Mr. Trung also stated that recently, the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (FIATA) has overcome many competitors to win the bid to host the 2025 International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) World Congress in Hanoi.
“This is a great joy, a source of pride, and a tremendous responsibility for Vietnam’s logistics service industry in the process of implementing Vietnam’s independent, self-reliant foreign policy and increasingly deep international integration. The successful organization of the FIATA World Congress 2025 demonstrates the Association’s determination to elevate Vietnam’s logistics service industry to a world-class level,” Mr. Trung emphasized.
