Located on the River Coln, the village of Bibury is famous for its Arlington Row wooden houses dating back to the 14th century. It is also one of the destinations honored to be featured on British passports and is one of the most photographed attractions in the Cotswolds.

Recently, locals have been constantly complaining about the overwhelming number of tourists, which leaves the streets always congested with cars.

Sarah, a teacher in Bibury, said she and her sister were astonished "to see dozens of foreign tourists arrive in Bibury and immediately get off the bus to take pictures of the streets or the front gardens of local people."

Sarah shared: "The car stopped in the middle of the road because there was no parking space, then everyone rushed out, cameras in hand, and started taking pictures in front of people's houses."

I know that not everywhere has traditional stone houses and front gardens like these. But this is causing quite a bit of trouble and noise in our little village."

The nearby Bourton-on-the-Water Canal, known as the "Venice of the Cotswolds," was also constantly overloaded this past summer.

Anthony White, an 80-year-old who lived in San Francisco for many years, said that the noise and congestion caused by tourists in Bourton were far worse than anything he had experienced in the West Coast city.

He said: "Since moving here a few years ago, I've been shocked and increasingly concerned about the terrible effects of overtourism. The whole village is very noisy, not only because of the traffic but also because of the groups of tourists moving around all day and night."

However, Sarah, 59, believes people should "stop complaining." She said she moved from Brentwood, Essex, to the village last year so she could be closer to her son, who works in Bourton.

"It's true that there are more and more tourists coming here, but I think people should stop complaining about it and enjoy the economic benefits they bring."
