Many activities to celebrate the 120th birthday of General Secretary Tran Phu

According to the plans of the Standing Committee of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Duc Tho District Party Committee, and other localities, many activities commemorating the 120th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Tran Phu - the first General Secretary of the Party - will be organized from now until May 2024.

Proud to be the birthplace of such an outstanding son, Duc Tho district has proactively organized numerous meetings, discussions, and implemented various activities leading up to the commemoration.

According to Bui Le Van, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Duc Tho District Party Committee: The Standing Committee of the District Party Committee has established an Organizing Committee to publicize the commemorative activities and assigned specific tasks to its members. Based on the proactive advice of various departments, offices, and sectors, and through meetings to reach consensus, on October 6, 2023, the Standing Committee of the Duc Tho District Party Committee issued Plan No. 97-KH/HU on the propaganda and organization of activities commemorating the 120th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Tran Phu - the first General Secretary of the Party (May 1, 1904 - May 1, 2024).

According to this plan, a series of important and practical events will be organized from now until May 2023. These include, along with widespread propaganda throughout the district, organizing a "Contest to learn about the life, background, and career of Comrade Tran Phu - the first General Secretary of the Party"; launching a "120-day intensive emulation campaign" in localities and units throughout the district; organizing a mass art festival and sports competitions; and holding a district-level seminar on "Tran Phu's Will - Duc Tho's Aspiration".

At the same time, political activities were organized through forums, seminars, and thematic discussions such as "Our Party is truly great"; "General Secretary Tran Phu - A staunch communist fighter, an outstanding leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution"...

Many activities were held to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of General Secretary Tran Phu.

The Trần Phú General Secretary Memorial Site is located in Tùng Ảnh commune (Đức Thọ district).

During the celebration, the district will organize a commemorative program marking the 120th anniversary of Comrade Tran Phu's birth, combined with a review of the three-year implementation of Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW of the Politburo of the 13th Party Congress on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo of the 12th Party Congress "On promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style," and commending advanced models in studying and emulating Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style.

According to the Head of the Propaganda Department of the Duc Tho District Party Committee, the District People's Committee has assigned relevant departments and agencies to concretize the plan into specific tasks for implementation. After the weather stabilizes, the district will build a system of billboards and posters for public awareness campaigns along the main roads in the area.

At the end of October, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee issued Plan 212-KH/TU on propaganda and organization of activities to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Tran Phu - the first General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The stated purpose and requirements are to honor the great contributions of Comrade Tran Phu - the first General Secretary of the Party - to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the Vietnamese nation, and his hometown of Ha Tinh; to contribute to educating revolutionary traditions, strengthening faith, and arousing pride in the homeland and country for cadres, Party members, and the people.

Organize commemorative activities in a solemn, practical, effective, and highly educational manner; create a patriotic emulation movement throughout the Party, the people, and the armed forces, linked with promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals of the Party's 13th National Congress Resolution, the 19th Provincial Party Congress Resolution, and the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term.

In addition to the content of the propaganda, the plan clearly outlines the materials and forms of propaganda to be implemented by Party committees, governments, agencies, localities, and units, ensuring requirements are met and creating a high level of uniformity.

The Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and the Tran Phu Political School will also advise on developing a plan to coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy and the Vietnam Historical Science Association to organize a scientific conference on General Secretary Tran Phu. Simultaneously, the production of documentary films; the collection, display, and exhibition of documents, artifacts, and memorabilia will be organized seriously and systematically.

On the occasion of the anniversary, the province will organize a ceremony to offer incense and flowers at the Tran Phu Memorial Area; hold a provincial-level commemorative ceremony and a special art program, along with many other practical activities organized throughout the province.

Immediately after the Provincial Party Committee issued the plan, on October 31, 2023, the Provincial People's Committee issued document No. 6060/UBND-VX "On assigning the implementation of Plan 212-KH/TU of the Provincial Party Committee". The Provincial People's Committee assigned provincial departments, agencies, and organizations, as well as the People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns, to launch and promote patriotic emulation movements to successfully carry out tasks related to economic, cultural, and social development, and ensure national defense and security at all levels, in all sectors, among cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people to celebrate the anniversary.

Based on the content and tasks, departments and agencies are responsible for leading and coordinating with relevant departments, agencies, and units to implement the plan, ensuring its purpose, effectiveness, and adherence to the specified timeframe.

The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department to urgently finalize the Project for the construction, restoration, preservation, upgrading and expansion of the Tran Phu Memorial Area in order to prepare a dossier for requesting recognition as a special national historical relic.
