To commemorate the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification Day on April 30th and International Labor Day on May 1st, many roads in Binh Thuan province leading to tourist destinations will be put into operation, aiming to facilitate sightseeing and relaxation for tourists. With the 5-day holiday, many businesses in the province are organizing unique and innovative events to attract visitors.
Add more routes to the tourist area.
According to the Binh Thuan Provincial Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transportation Works, the Ham Kiem-Tien Thanh road project is an important project connecting coastal roads, spanning 7.7km and linking the Phan Thiet-Dau Giay expressway with National Highway 1A to the DT 719B road. The project was approved by the Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee in 2020 with a total investment of 420 billion VND.
The road construction was approximately 80% complete but stalled due to land clearance issues. By March 2024, the land had been handed over to the construction unit.
According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Trung, Head of the Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Transportation Works in Binh Thuan Province, since receiving the land, the unit has been working continuously 24/7 to ensure that the Ham Kiem-Tien Thanh road leading to the coastal tourist area south of Phan Thiet will be fully open to traffic before April 30th.
In addition, the Ham Kiem-Tien Thanh route will shorten travel time to tourist areas south of Phan Thiet. Also during this period, several other routes are expected to be put into operation, including the DT 719B road section from the beginning to Suoi Nhum 3 bridge; the completion of the DT 719 road section from Ke Ga to Tan Thien 4; and the completion of the Thu Khoa Huan road.
To serve tourists traveling to Phu Quy Island, according to the Binh Thuan Maritime Port Authority, after receiving information about the 5-day holiday, transport companies have increased the number of trips. On average, there are 14-15 trips per day from Phan Thiet city to Phu Quy Island and vice versa. In addition, the railway sector has also increased the number of trips from Saigon Station (Ho Chi Minh City) to Phan Thiet Station (Binh Thuan province).
Many new events
In Phu Quy district, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan province, together with Sandy Boutique House Investment Joint Stock Company, organized the Phu Quy SUP Rowing Festival 2024, which took place at Hon Den beach on May 3rd.
The competition offers prizes for the winners. Athletes compete in three categories: men's singles, women's singles, and mixed doubles. In addition, visitors can enjoy a spectacular "Music Festival."
With the message "Determined to preserve and develop the coastal and island tourism of our homeland," Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, Deputy Director of Sandy Boutique House Investment Joint Stock Company, said that the festival will promote Phu Quy Island as a tourist destination both domestically and internationally.
Furthermore, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) is expected to develop further in the future, becoming an indispensable activity for tourists visiting the area. In addition, many companies organizing SUP tours and coral viewing could collaborate to promote the natural beauty of the islands and seascapes.
To meet the needs of passengers, Mr. Ngo Tan Luc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Quy district, said: In the first three months of the year, the number of tourists visiting the island reached over 23,000, an increase of 13,000 compared to the same period last year.
In the district, there are approximately 60 hotels and 120 homestays, which basically meet the accommodation needs of tourists. The district directs relevant units such as the police and border guards to strengthen management measures for tourists during the holiday period, including traffic, sanitation, and theft prevention.
To promote sustainable development, the district is also coordinating with local people to ensure environmental compliance and launching a campaign against bringing plastic waste to the island. In addition, the district is supporting organizations in providing water sports activities such as stand-up paddleboarding, coral viewing, and swimming at the island.
At the NovaWorld Phan Thiet Economic and Tourism Urban Area (Tien Thanh commune, Phan Thiet city), a series of Carnival festivals will take place from April 27th to 30th. Visitors will enjoy a range of exciting and novel entertainment experiences, along with vibrant music parties and spectacular fireworks displays.
The highlight of the festival is the spectacular music party, taking place from 5 PM to 7 PM along the Miami shophouse street and around Bikini Beach plaza, featuring a band and hundreds of artists and dancers.
From 7 PM to 10 PM, at Bikini Beach Square, many renowned artists and famous DJs such as Jimmi Nguyen & Jimmi Band, Lan Nha, Doube 2T, Wind.P, Tulaz, DJ Miley, etc., will gather. Especially on the night of April 30th, visitors will be able to admire a spectacular fireworks display.
To enhance the visitor experience, in addition to the dinosaur-themed amusement park Dino Park, the miniature "Little Africa" Safari Cafe, Wonderland Water Park, Circus Land amusement park, etc.
