To celebrate the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day on April 30 and International Labor Day on May 1, many routes in Binh Thuan province leading to tourist destinations will be put into operation, creating favorable conditions for tourists to visit and relax. According to the Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects of Binh Thuan province, the Ham Kiem-Tien Thanh route project is an important project connecting all coastal routes, 7.7km long, connecting Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressway with National Highway 1A to DT 719B route, approved by the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province in 2020, with a total investment of 420 billion VND.

The construction of the route is about 80% complete, stalled due to site clearance issues. By March 2024, the site had been handed over to the construction unit.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Trung, Head of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Traffic Works in Binh Thuan Province, since receiving the site, the unit has been working continuously 24/7 so that the Ham Kiem-Tien Thanh route leading to the coastal tourist area south of Phan Thiet will be open to traffic before April 30.

In addition, the Ham Kiem-Tien Thanh route will shorten the time to travel to tourist areas in the south of Phan Thiet. Also on this occasion, many routes are expected to put into operation: DT 719B road from the beginning of the route to Suoi Nhum 3 bridge; DT 719 road from Ke Ga to Tan Thien 4 section will be completed; and Thu Khoa Huan road will be completed.

To serve tourists traveling to Phu Quy Island, according to the Binh Thuan Maritime Port Authority, after receiving information about the 5-day holiday, transport units have increased trips. On average, there are 14-15 trips per day from Phan Thiet City to Phu Quy Island and vice versa. In addition, the railway industry has also increased trips from Saigon Station (Ho Chi Minh City) to Phan Thiet Station (Binh Thuan Province).

Many new events

In Phu Quy district, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan province together with Sandy Boutique House Investment Joint Stock Company organized the 2024 Phu Quy Sup rowing festival at Hon Den beach on May 3.

The competition has prizes for the winners. Athletes compete in 3 categories: men's singles, women's singles, and mixed doubles. In addition, visitors can attend a grand "Music Festival".

In order to meet the needs of passengers, Mr. Ngo Tan Luc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Quy district, said: In the first 3 months of the year, the number of tourists to the island reached more than 23,000, an increase of 13,000 over the same period last year.

In the district, there are about 60 hotels and 120 homestays, so they can basically meet the needs of tourists. The district directs good management units such as the police and border guards to strengthen management for tourists during the holidays such as traffic, hygiene, theft, etc.

For sustainable development, the district also cooperates with people to comply with the environment, launching a movement not to bring plastic waste to the island. Along with that, the district is also supporting units to organize water games such as Sup rowing, coral viewing, and swimming on the island.

At NovaWorld Phan Thiet Economic and Tourist Urban Area (Tien Thanh Commune, Phan Thiet City), a series of Carnival Festivals will take place from April 27 to 30.
