Duo from Karlsruhe to tour Vietnam

The German Embassy in Hanoi, along with a duo from Karlsruhe, is planning a tour of Vietnam with performances in Hanoi, Hue, and Binh Duong .

Cellist Reinhard Armleder and pianist Dagmar Hartmann's tour will take place from September 3-6 and will be a festive event for a wide audience.

The concert program will include classical music from different countries and eras, including works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Robert Schumann, César Franck, Maurice Ravel, and Manuel de Falla.

The concerts will take place at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi on September 3rd; at the Hue Academy of Music on September 5th; and at the Vietnamese-German University in Binh Duong province on September 6th.

In addition, the two artists will organize three masterclasses for students of the Vietnam National Academy of Music on September 4th in Hanoi, thereby making a significant contribution to the musical training of young talents.

Given the prominent role of classical music in cultural exchange, this project makes a valuable contribution to strengthening cooperative relations with Vietnam. Admission to the three concerts in Hanoi, Hue, and Binh Duong is free.

The duo from Karlsruhe has been performing together since 1999. Beyond winning several international competitions, they have established themselves as a successful and sought-after pair both domestically and internationally.

This duo consistently receives high praise and captivates audiences with their insightful and engaging interpretations, superb technique, and imaginative program structure.

In their performances, the two artists focused on 20th-century classical-romantic literature and music.

They are particularly interested in rediscovering lesser-known composers and works for duets, dedicating themselves to contemporary music and releasing works that suit them.

This year, the duo toured Belgium, the Netherlands, Kenya, Uganda, Portugal, Cape Verde, Malta, and Namibia. They also regularly taught masterclasses in Switzerland, South Africa, and Panama.
