In a workplace environment where the planning, training, development, placement, and utilization of female employees are given special attention, the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) is fertile ground for female workers to have many opportunities for development. At EVNNPC now, it is not uncommon to see female officers appointed to key, high-level positions.

Leading EVN in gender equality initiatives.

According to EVNNPC, in 2024, the Corporation's revenue reached VND 194,745.5 billion, exceeding the plan assigned by Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) (VND 183,803 billion), an increase of 5.95%; labor productivity reached 4.31 million kWh/person/year, exceeding the plan assigned by EVN (4.13 million kWh/person/year). This success not only helps female workers fulfill their production and business tasks, contributing positively to the development of the enterprise, but also affirms their leading role in promoting gender equality at EVNNPC.

Mr. Tran Minh Dung, Deputy General Director of EVNNPC, affirmed that at the Corporation, female employees are treated equally with men in all areas, from job positions and promotion opportunities to benefits in all policies. Among these, increasing the participation of women in management and leadership positions is one of the important goals.

In fact, at EVNNPC, women account for 16.66% of strategic-level leaders compared to the total number of staff at the same level, with 2 positions: Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members; Chief Accountant; senior leaders in departments include 6 heads of departments and 12 deputy heads of departments, accounting for over 40% of staff at the same level; 162 female staff members are leaders of level 3 units; and 206 female staff members are at the power sector level and equivalent.

During the period 2021-2026, EVNNPC has planned for female staff in all positions. While the workforce structure is becoming increasingly streamlined, leading to a reduction in the number of leadership and management positions, maintaining the current percentage of female staff at EVNNPC affirms the leadership's attention and recognition of female staff, ensuring that EVNNPC's gender equality efforts remain among the leading units within EVN.

As of December 31, 2024, EVNNPC had 7,152 female employees, accounting for 27.36% of the total workforce. Adhering to production and business objectives, gender equality efforts at EVNNPC continue to guide female employees to maintain a spirit of continuous learning, foster innovation, and dare to think and act, contributing to the Corporation's successful completion of EVN's assigned tasks and achieving the 2021-2025 plan targets.

At EVNNPC, employees, including female workers, are paid according to their job position and monthly performance evaluation scores, gradually ensuring fairness for employees in the relationship between work efficiency and income, and ensuring EVN's targets are met.

In 2024, EVNNPC organized 6 training courses for 266 female staff members on developing digital leadership skills in the EVN style; and 6 training courses for 259 female staff members on developing skills, lifestyle, and professional and effective work for female managers at levels 3 and 4… In coordination with the professional departments, the EVNNPC Trade Union also regularly organized soft skills training or specialized study sessions, talk shows, online competitions… for female employees and workers, seminars, and thematic talks on gender equality in the workplace, "Women and cultural behavior and child-rearing in the 4.0 era", "Men and gender equality"…

EVNNPC has many policies and mechanisms to support female employees in developing and asserting their position in the workplace.

To achieve gender equality goals, EVNNPC always creates opportunities for female employees to learn, exchange ideas, and interact with colleagues in member units as well as other units in the industry; and listens to the thoughts and aspirations of employees when there is a need for personnel transfers or rearrangements to suit the organizational model.

In particular, EVNNPC always pays attention to and ensures the income and wages of its employees, with various forms of rewards throughout the year, either quarterly or on specific topics, to promptly motivate employees to perform their jobs well, including female employees.

Criteria for selecting female personnel for leadership and management positions.

In its 2025 Action Plan for the Advancement of Women and Gender Equality, EVNNPC sets out five objectives: to ensure women's equal rights in the labor and employment sector; to improve the quality of female human resources; to ensure the material and spiritual well-being of female workers in particular and all workers in general; and to continue strengthening and raising awareness of gender equality.

To facilitate the development of female staff, EVNNPC will continue to collect evidence to assess the competence of each job position, aiming to ensure job positions for employees, including female employees, in accordance with EVN's competency framework. It will also develop criteria for appointing staff that include the selection of female personnel; review the list of female personnel in the planning list and develop plans for appointing them to leadership and management positions…

In addition, EVNNPC will organize online courses on gender-related topics for female employees to seize opportunities, improve themselves, and meet the skills and requirements of an advanced working environment; and encourage units to expand training for female workers on health-related knowledge, lifestyle, etc.
