Mr. Tran Duc Thang was born on August 11, 1973, in Phu Tho province; is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, member of the Government Party Executive Committee; Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (from July 2025).

On the morning of October 24, at the 10th Session, the 15th National Assembly approved the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Mr. Tran Duc Thang as Minister of Foreign Affairs for the 2021-2026 term.
