Causes of bladder stones

Doctors say there are many causes of bladder stones, mainly due to urine retention in the bladder or stones migrating from the upper urinary tract; commonly found in men.

When suffering from bladder stones, patients often have lower urinary tract symptoms such as: Intermittent urination in the middle of the stream, urinary retention, hematuria, cloudy urine, fever when there is an infection, but in reality there are some cases with no symptoms.

If left untreated, bladder stones can lead to complications such as: causing chronic bladder dysfunction, causing urinary tract infections, increasing the risk of bladder cancer...

How to prevent the risk of bladder stones

To reduce the risk of bladder stones, doctors recommend that people should:

- Regular health check-ups.

- Get into the habit of drinking lots of water, you should drink 2-3 liters of water per day to help eliminate toxins and waste from the kidneys and bladder to avoid precipitation and stone formation.

- Eat plenty of fiber-rich foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans. Limit foods high in fat, salt, and sugar.

- Eat more fish than meat, limit foods containing protein because it can make kidney stones worse. Do not eat organs, especially liver, because liver contains a lot of purine - a substance that creates kidney stones.

- Limit the use of stimulants such as alcohol, tobacco, etc.
