The Vietnam Children's Protection Fund is innovating its operational methods; researching and gradually shifting from "situational support" to "fundamental, long-term support"; and simultaneously building sustainable models, initiatives, and target groups for support, becoming a model of child support for domestic and international organizations, individuals, and businesses to emulate.
This was shared by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Vietnam Children's Protection Fund, at the Board meeting held on the afternoon of October 16th at the Presidential Palace.

Prioritizing the Care of Children: At the meeting, the Vice President stated that the country had just experienced Typhoon No. 3, causing significant damage to many localities in the North, directly affecting the people, especially children. In this context, the Party, the State, and the entire society are simultaneously focusing on economic development and recovery from the difficulties caused by the storm and floods, while also ensuring social welfare, with a particular priority on caring for children, in the spirit of leaving no one behind. Contributing to the overall achievements in caring for children are not only the active activities of the Vietnam Children's Protection Fund but also the efforts of businesses and philanthropists in overcoming difficulties and actively participating in social welfare activities. Thanking the members of the Board of Trustees and benefactors for their time, effort, money, and support for the Fund, which has yielded positive results in the first nine months of 2024, the Vice President also commended the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs for its close guidance and timely resolution of difficulties and obstacles, ensuring the Fund's operations meet the set requirements. The Vice President emphasized that the Vietnam Children's Protection Fund needs to provide specific advice to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs regarding its organizational structure and appropriate, fundamental, and clear financial mechanisms; and to promote the application of information technology in its communication efforts. Furthermore, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs needs to have a thorough understanding of the current situation of Vietnamese children, thereby determining specific directions and tasks to implement; and to anticipate difficulties that may impact fundraising and support for children in order to set appropriate targets and measures.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Office of the President , and media agencies closely coordinate to organize activities with many innovations in form and content; thereby creating a wider dissemination of the meaning of the Vietnam Children's Protection Fund to the whole society, attracting more philanthropists and sponsors to participate in caring for children. Mobilizing all resources to support children .

Responding to the directives of the Vice President, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha stated that the Vietnam Children's Protection Fund has received regular guidance from the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the Ministry's leadership. Many fundraising and support events for children have seen the participation of Party and State leaders. As a State-owned fund, its charitable and humanitarian activities have profound significance, thus receiving enthusiastic support from the community. In 2025, the Fund aims to raise 110 billion VND to support approximately 110,000 children. As of September 30, 2024, the Vietnam Children's Protection Fund had supported 86,953 children (reaching 79% of the annual plan) with a total support budget of over 52 billion VND. These activities include several programs with high total funding, such as: cleft lip and palate surgery, construction support, bicycle support, scholarships, other support, and support as requested by sponsors. During the 2024 Action Month for Children, the Fund provided 16.3 billion VND (90.3% of the plan) to disadvantaged children nationwide. During the new school year and Mid-Autumn Festival, from mid-August 2024, the Fund provided support and gifts to over 29,900 children in more than 30 provinces/cities nationwide with a total budget of nearly 6.6 billion VND. Recently, the Fund coordinated with local authorities to provide direct support to 2,159 children affected by Typhoon No. 3 in 19 provinces and cities with a budget of nearly 4.56 billion VND. It is projected that by December 31, 2024, the Fund will have provided support to 118,000 children (reaching 107.3% of the annual plan) with a budget of over 105 billion VND. At the meeting, Council members proposed continuing to innovate fundraising and resource mobilization efforts; improving and strengthening training for Fund system staff; perfecting the legal framework to unify the organizational structure of the Fund system, and providing guidance on the management and use of child protection funds at all levels... Some opinions suggested continuing to focus on supporting children with congenital heart disease; providing scholarships and bicycles; responding to and providing timely support for children affected by storms, floods, or other emergencies... to properly demonstrate the Fund's role in caring for children.
