Affirming the role of a direct bridge between the National Assembly and the People
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong acknowledged the efforts, initiative and responsibility of the entire Committee for People's Aspirations and Supervision during its first term. The important contributions of the Committee have created a solid foundation for continued development in the coming period, meeting the increasingly high demands of voters and people nationwide.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly was pleased to see that the Committee for People's Aspirations and Supervision has demonstrated its central position in the relationship between the State and the People, and is of strategic importance in building a socialist rule-of-law State, protecting citizens' rights, controlling state power and developing the country; affirming its role as a direct bridge between the National Assembly and the People, helping the National Assembly listen to the people's voices, grasp their thoughts, aspirations, pressing concerns and outstanding issues in practice, contributing to ensuring the motto: "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people benefit".
To effectively carry out the tasks in the coming time, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly requested the Committee for People's Aspirations and Supervision to strengthen digital transformation and apply science and technology in people's aspiration and supervision work. Expand and diversify people's aspiration channels on digital platforms to ensure fast, transparent and effective interaction. Improve the quality of feedback and supervision of settlement results. Strengthen focused supervision in supervising the promulgation of legal documents; questioning, explaining; and thematic supervision.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly suggested that the Committee for People's Aspirations and Supervision take care of building the agency, improving the capacity of the staff and full-time delegates at the Standing Committee. Perfect the organizational structure; build a strong enough support apparatus in terms of quantity and quality, select dedicated, knowledgeable, and experienced staff in people's aspiration and supervision work.

Along with that, it is necessary to focus on ensuring information security and data confidentiality. Strengthen inter-sectoral coordination in citizen reception, supervision of complaints and denunciations and the settlement of voters' petitions. Implement the criterion of "taking people as the center of all citizen petition and supervision activities"; taking people's satisfaction as the criterion for evaluating the quality of activities. Promote dialogue; increase transparency, ease of understanding, and accessibility in citizen petition and supervision work.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly emphasized that the achievements of the People's Aspirations and Supervision Committee in the past term are an important foundation for the Committee to further promote its role in the coming term.

Chairman of the People's Aspirations and Supervision Committee Duong Thanh Binh stated that in the first term, the Committee has comprehensively implemented the assigned tasks: the work of law-making was carried out in an orderly, scientific and timely manner; the activities of receiving citizens, handling voters' petitions and complaints and denunciations were organized closely, openly and transparently; the supervision work was strengthened in a substantive manner, contributing to improving the responsibility and compliance with the law of agencies and organizations. The Committee effectively coordinated with the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, branches and localities in resolving issues of concern to voters. The results achieved have created an important mark in the first term, affirming the role, prestige and position of the Committee; at the same time, it is a solid foundation for continuing to innovate and improve the effectiveness of people's aspiration and supervision work in the following terms.
The Chairman of the Committee for People's Aspirations and Supervision emphasized that, entering a new phase, the Committee needs to continue to innovate, be proactive and determined, improve the quality of law-making, supervision and people's aspiration work, ensure that the voices of voters and people are fully reflected, and make practical contributions to the cause of building and developing the Socialist Republic of Vietnam's rule-of-law State.
Reporting on the summary of the Committee's work during the 2021-2026 term, Permanent Deputy Head of the Committee for People's Aspirations and Supervision Le Thi Nga affirmed that during the 15th National Assembly term, the Committee achieved many positive results, general contributions and achievements of the National Assembly.
Notably, in the supervision work, the Committee for People's Aspirations and Supervision has promoted its role as a specialized advisory body, proactively and actively performing its advisory tasks, serving the supervision activities of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee, ensuring comprehensiveness, science and efficiency.
The Standing Deputy Chairman of the People's Aspirations and Supervision Committee also said that the highlight of this term's work is that for the first time At the Fifth Session, the 15th National Assembly discussed in plenary session the report on the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' petitions; at the Sixth Session, the National Assembly discussed the report on the results of receiving citizens, handling petitions and monitoring the settlement of complaints and denunciations sent to the National Assembly by citizens. This is a strong innovation, contributing to improving transparency, accountability and the effectiveness of the National Assembly's supervision of the activities of state administrative agencies in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of citizens.
Regarding the work of people's petitions, the Standing Deputy Chairman of the Committee for People's Petitions and Supervision stated that from the beginning of the term of the 15th National Assembly to the end of November 2025, the Committee had regularly organized citizen receptions for 5,534 times and 5,232 cases. The organization of citizen receptions complied with legal regulations and internal rules.
From the beginning of the 15th National Assembly's term to the end of November 2025, the Committee has helped the National Assembly Standing Committee receive, synthesize, classify and forward 20,180 voters' petitions to competent central agencies for consideration and resolution. Through the process of receiving and responding to voters' petitions, state agencies have promptly discovered and adjusted many shortcomings in administration, management, and perfecting policies and laws.
In addition, the Committee for People's Aspirations and Supervision also does a good job of preparing monthly reports on the National Assembly's people's aspiration work, foreign affairs activities, international cooperation and other activities according to its functions and tasks.
