The medical field has just added 3 professors and 68 associate professors. Le Minh Hoang, a male lecturer from My Thinh commune, My Loc district, Nam Dinh province, has become the youngest associate professor in the medical field this year.

Currently, Mr. Hoang is a senior lecturer and Head of the Department of Traditional Medicine at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

In 2011, Mr. Hoang graduated with a degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. Three years later, he received a master's degree in surgical Traditional Chinese Medicine from the same university. In 2020, Mr. Hoang earned his doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Military Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

After graduating with a master's degree, Mr. Hoang returned to Vietnam and worked at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy as a lecturer in the Traditional Medicine department. In 2020, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Traditional Medicine department, and just one year later, he became Head of the department. In December 2023, at the age of 36, Mr. Hoang was appointed Head of the Traditional Medicine Faculty at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

After 10 years of working at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Mr. Hoang believes that he fully meets the standards of a teacher as stipulated by the Education Law and the Higher Education Law. He possesses good moral character, firm ideology, a love for his profession, and dedication to his work. He himself has always strived to comply with and encouraged others to fully adhere to the school's rules and regulations, maintaining the integrity, ethics, and exemplary pioneering spirit of a teacher.

“I have been a lecturer at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy since 2014, teaching Traditional Medicine at the Department of Traditional Medicine. In 2021, the Department of Traditional Medicine was established, separated from the Faculty of Medicine, and became the Department of Traditional Medicine under Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and I was assigned as its Head. In 2023, I was appointed Head of the Faculty of Traditional Medicine, continuing to teach postgraduate Traditional Medicine courses for resident doctors, specialists (level 1 and level 2), and Traditional Medicine programs.”

"I have collaborated with the department to develop and teach postgraduate training programs such as Specialist Level 1, Specialist Level 2, and residency programs in Traditional Medicine, and I am currently writing a proposal to open a master's program. I have also chaired, developed, and participated in teaching four continuing education programs; and I have worked with the department to develop teaching curricula..." - the young associate professor stated.

In terms of scientific research, Mr. Le Minh Hoang focuses on two research directions: Investigating the effectiveness of combining medicinal and non-medicinal methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern medicine in treating chronic diseases, especially in elderly patients; and modernizing and evaluating the effects of traditional prescriptions, modified traditional prescriptions, and family-inherited remedies, studying acute toxicity, subchronic toxicity, and pharmacological effects of these prescriptions in experimental and clinical settings.

To date, the youngest associate professor in the medical field has published 39 scientific articles, including 11 in prestigious international journals and 28 in domestic journals. He has also completed 4 scientific research projects and published 8 books, including 7 textbooks and 1 reference book…
