Quarter 1-2024: Handling 1 million traffic violations

On March 25, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security held a conference to review the police work in the first quarter of 2024 and summarize the peak of attacking and suppressing crime, ensuring security and order for the 2024 Lunar New Year in person and online to local police.

According to Major General Dang Hong Duc, Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security, in the first quarter, the police of units and localities investigated and discovered 10,925 cases of crimes against social order; arrested and handled more than 24,000 subjects; dismantled 44 criminal gangs; discovered more than 9,400 cases, more than 14,800 subjects of drug crimes, seized more than 112 kg of heroin, 650 kg and 741,000 synthetic drug pills. The police of units and localities also inspected more than 43,300 business establishments with conditions on security and order; discovered and arrested 1,019 cases, more than 1,700 subjects violating the law related to weapons, explosives, and supporting tools.
