Quarter 1-2024: Handling 1 million traffic violations

On March 25th, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security held a conference to review police work in the first quarter of 2024 and summarize the results of the intensified campaign to combat and suppress crime and ensure security and order during the Lunar New Year of 2024. The conference was held in person and online with police forces from various localities.

Major General Dang Hong Duc, Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security, delivered a speech at the conference.

According to Major General Dang Hong Duc, Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security, in the first quarter, police units and localities investigated and uncovered 10,925 cases of social order crimes; arrested and prosecuted more than 24,000 suspects; dismantled 44 criminal gangs and groups; detected more than 9,400 cases and more than 14,800 suspects involved in drug-related crimes, seizing more than 112 kg of heroin, 650 kg and 741,000 pills of synthetic drugs. Police units and localities also inspected more than 43,300 businesses with conditional security and order requirements; detected and arrested 1,019 cases and more than 1,700 suspects violating laws related to weapons, explosives, and supporting tools.
