On October 10th, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Cooperative Union, in coordination with the Van Ninh District People's Committee, held a ceremony to launch the Van Ninh High-Tech Marine Aquaculture Cooperative.
Accordingly, the leaders of the Van Ninh District People's Committee presented the cooperative registration certificate; the leaders of the Provincial Cooperative Union presented the decision recognizing the Van Ninh High-Tech Marine Aquaculture Cooperative, with 5 members, as a member of the Provincial Cooperative Union.
The Van Ninh High-Tech Marine Aquaculture Cooperative was established with 5 members.
On this occasion, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Le Huu Hoang, presented flowers to congratulate the cooperative members and donated 2,000 aquatic species fry, worth 35 million VND, to the Van Ninh High-Tech Marine Aquaculture Cooperative for stocking.
Mr. Le Huu Hoang also personally visited the fish farm of the Van Ninh High-Tech Marine Aquaculture Cooperative to visit, encourage, and release fingerlings into the cooperative's cages.
It is known that Khanh Hoa province has an annual aquaculture production of over 18,000 tons. Of this, marine aquaculture production accounts for approximately 50% of the total aquaculture production of the entire province.

Khanh Hoa province has potential and strengths in developing the marine economy , including the fisheries sector. Khanh Hoa has a natural area of 5,217.6 km2, with 385 km of coastline and more than 200 islands of various sizes near and far from the shore. Among them, the Truong Sa archipelago holds a crucial position in socio-economic development as well as national defense and security, not only for Khanh Hoa but also for Vietnam as a whole.

According to the leaders of the Khanh Hoa Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Khanh Hoa has introduced new aquaculture species with high economic value and export potential into production, such as: tiger shrimp, grouper, sea bass, seaweed, pearls, green mussels, geoduck, abalone, yellowfin snapper, etc., contributing to promoting the aquaculture movement throughout the province; and proactively producing artificial seeds of tiger shrimp, abalone, blood cockles, abalone, geoduck, and yellowfin snapper.

Currently, in Khanh Hoa province, several businesses and organizations have invested in industrial-scale marine farming, yielding high efficiency, such as: Australis Vietnam Aquaculture Co., Ltd., the High-Tech Marine Farming Center under the Research Institute of Aquaculture I, and Phuong Minh Aquaculture Joint Stock Company.
In particular, Australis Vietnam Aquaculture Co., Ltd. has invested in and effectively applied Norwegian cage farming technology and advanced farming technologies such as operating an automatic fish feeding system, creating a closed value chain from artificial breeding to harvesting.
