Green economic growth is a new trend in the restructuring of the economy in the face of climate change and depletion of natural resources, aiming for sustainable development. Research and utilization of new renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, geothermal, and bioenergy are essential for countries to develop low-carbon or green economies. Vietnam has been striving to achieve the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050, contributing to sustainable development and enhancing the competitiveness of the Vietnamese economy.

At the COP28 conference in Dubai, with its "Global Cooling Commitment," Vietnam is accelerating the implementation of policies and incentives to reduce energy consumption and limit greenhouse gas emissions . By 2025, total electricity production and imports are projected to reach 347.5 billion kWh, an increase of approximately 12.2% compared to 2024, with total power generation capacity (excluding rooftop solar power) increasing by 6.2%. The revised draft of the Power Development Plan 8 presents two scenarios for the 2026-2030 period: a 10.3% increase in electricity demand under the baseline scenario and a 12.5% increase under the high scenario, closely aligned with economic development scenarios. At the same time, to meet the demand for increasing electricity capacity for the entire system, Vietnam needs to mobilize between 30.7 and 40 billion USD in investment capital by 2030, mainly from private and non-state enterprises.

The 18th International Exhibition on Electrical Technology & Equipment – Vietnam ETE 2025 and Energy Saving Products, Green Energy – Greenergy Expo 2025 will be held from July 16th to 18th, 2025 at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC).
