Instead, the school mobilized units to transfer the money for flower donations to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to support people in the northern provinces and cities to overcome difficulties and damage after storms and floods.

Previously, the school's lecturers and students also donated more than 215 million VND to support people in the North.

On the occasion of the new school year opening, dozens of partner businesses and organizations also contributed to the school's student support fund with a total scholarship value of 8 billion VND.

Along with corporate scholarships, the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology said that in this new school year, the scholarship fund and support fund for students will increase to encourage students' learning spirit.

Specifically, the scholarship fund for students in the 2024-2025 school year has a total value of 11 billion VND. In addition, the student support fund with a total value of 13 billion VND this year will support students in difficult circumstances to borrow money to cover tuition fees without having to pay interest.

During the opening ceremony, the school's two valedictorians were awarded two scholarships worth 50% of tuition fees for the 2024-2025 school year (about 25 million VND/scholarship). If they maintain their academic performance, these two valedictorians will continue to receive scholarships in the following years. The value of the full-term scholarship is 100 million VND/scholarship. In addition, the school also awarded 36 scholarships to the valedictorians of the majors, each worth 25% of tuition fees.

Also on this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology received the Certificate ofEducational Accreditation for the Oriental Studies major from the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation - Ho Chi Minh City National University, increasing the number of accredited programs to 7.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology, gave a long and passionate speech to the new students. Especially sharing about how to use time.
