President of Foreign Trade University, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Anh Tuan spoke at the forum.

The theme of this year’s forum raises an urgent and strategic issue. In the context of global integration and ever-increasing competition, higher education is undergoing profound changes. Vietnam, as an emerging country, has become the epicenter of this trend with an increasing number of students studying abroad each year.

Therefore, international branch campuses (IBCs) have been playing an important role as a bridge, providing world-class education in emerging countries in general and in Vietnam in particular, helping students access high-quality international education without having to study abroad.

However, the process of establishing and operating international branches is a challenging journey, fraught with, but not limited to, regulatory barriers and cultural differences.

At the forum, domestic and international experts and scientists focused on discussing the issue of promoting international cooperation, seizing opportunities, addressing challenges and ensuring quality standards as core factors for developing international branches in emerging countries, especially Vietnam.

From there, we came to a consensus on principles such as the role of international branches in expanding access to quality education; addressing challenges; quality and innovation in higher education; and the importance of continuous cooperation. These principles reflect a shared vision for the future of higher education in Vietnam and other countries around the world.
