Transferring from the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to the Ministry of Education and Training, Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung was assigned to manage the Ministry of Education and Training's second account, after Minister Nguyen Kim Son.
Today, March 7th, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the Prime Minister's decision to transfer and appoint a new Deputy Minister of Education and Training. The new Deputy Minister is Mr. Le Tan Dung, formerly Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. Following the merger of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs with the Ministry of Interior , the Government transferred and appointed Mr. Le Tan Dung to the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training, effective from March 1st.

According to the assignment of duties by the Minister and Deputy Ministers, Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung is the second account holder of the Ministry of Education and Training (the first account holder is Minister Nguyen Kim Son) and is assigned to oversee the following areas: planning and finance, public investment; school facilities and equipment; education socialization; sectoral and local planning; flood and storm prevention, natural disasters and climate change…
Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung is also in charge of the following units of the Ministry of Education and Training: Planning and Finance Department; Office; Management Board of Ministry of Education and Training Projects; and the Vocational Education Equipment Company Limited.
Mr. Le Tan Dung, 59 years old, has held various positions including: Deputy Chief of the Long An Provincial Party Committee Office; Director of the Long An Provincial Department of Internal Affairs; Secretary of the Thu Thua District Party Committee, Long An Province; Vice Chairman of the Long An Provincial People's Committee; and Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. While serving as Deputy Minister, Mr. Le Tan Dung was assigned to oversee vocational education.
From March, the Government transferred the vocational education sector from the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to the Ministry of Education and Training. Mr. Le Tan Dung was reassigned to lead the Ministry of Education and Training, but he is no longer in charge of the vocational education sector.
The Ministry of Education and Training currently has five deputy ministers: Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, and Mr. Le Tan Dung.
