Nam Luc Waterfall originates from an underground spring of the Hai Ho stream in Ta Ngao commune. The stream flows through several mountain ranges.
Upon reaching the area of Nam Luc 2 village, Phang So Lin commune, about 40km from the center of Sin Ho district (Lai Chau), the water cascades down to form Nam Luc waterfall.
With its wild and majestic beauty, Nam Luc Waterfall is like a treasure in the heart of the Sin Ho plateau, attracting many trekking enthusiasts. The waterfall is surrounded by ancient primary forest and rich flora and fauna, creating a beautiful natural landscape.
Nam Luc Waterfall is nearly 1,000 meters long, divided into many different tiers of varying heights, ranging from 15 to 25 meters, with the longest tier reaching up to 50 meters. The successive tiers cascade down in a white, soft stream, like silken ribbons amidst the lush green of the forest.

At the lower levels of the waterfall, the water takes on a dreamy beauty. Sometimes gentle, sometimes fierce, with streams of water cascading straight down from above onto the rocks. In some sections, the water even flows over large rocks, surprising visitors.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy ( Lao Cai ) said that she is a passionate trekker who has traveled to many places and conquered many mountains. Standing before the majestic beauty of Nam Luc waterfall, the female tourist felt incredibly small.
“After driving from Lai Chau, I hired a motorbike taxi for another 3km, which took about 25 minutes. Then, I walked for two hours, including 30 minutes on foot and an hour and a half climbing along the stream,” Ms. Thuy shared.
The journey to Nam Luc Waterfall is not easy, but when the female tourist saw the waterfall cascading down, all the fatigue from the trip seemed to disappear.
"I couldn't take my eyes off the waterfall; this was the most amazing experience I've ever had. I will definitely come back here again," said Ms. Thuy.

The best time to conquer Nam Luc Waterfall is on sunny days. The dry season is from November to March of the following year, while the rainy season is from May to October. Heavy rains and strong currents can pose a danger to visitors.
For those who enjoy adventure sports, visitors can combine mountain climbing with hiking through the primeval forest to reach the waterfall.
When visiting Sin Ho, in addition to Nam Luc Waterfall, tourists can explore other prominent destinations such as Da O Mountain, Ong Tien Cave, and ancient tea hills… This will certainly be an extremely interesting experience on the Northwest Vietnam tourist route.
