Recognizing that caring for the well-being of workers is one of the important tasks of the trade union organization, contributing significantly to the sustainable development of the company, the Hon Gai Coal Company Trade Union always proactively and actively researches and develops goals and solutions, and proposes to the management to effectively implement measures to care for the lives of workers and build welfare facilities to serve them.

With over 4,000 employees, the majority of whom are young, providing sufficient housing for workers in need of dormitories and supporting disadvantaged workers in building new homes or repairing existing ones is a significant challenge for Hon Gai Coal Company. However, recognizing that employees are a valuable asset and a crucial factor in determining stability and development, the company has focused on building and renovating dormitories to ensure good living conditions for 817 single individuals and 19 family apartments.
Since 2013, under the direction of the Party Committee, the Trade Union of Hon Gai Coal Company has coordinated with the professional departments to establish a fund to support the construction and repair of houses and developed a joint regulation on "Management and use of the fund to support the construction and repair of houses"; the maximum support for new construction is 50 million VND; the maximum support for repairs is 20 million VND. Thanks to this, many families of employees have received support for building and repairing their houses.

In early 2024, the company's labor union, in coordination with the management, reviewed and approved support for the construction and repair of houses for 49 families, totaling nearly 2 billion VND. Last September, Typhoon No. 3 caused significant damage to the company and its employees. The labor union assessed the situation and organized visits, providing 2 million VND per family to workers' families who suffered particularly severe damage, such as having their roofs completely blown off and lacking living space. In addition, support was provided to 524 families totaling over 2 billion VND, of which the labor union contributed 637 million VND.
With the goal of ensuring the best possible health for employees, the company's labor union has proposed several solutions to the management board to improve the quality of service and meals for employees. The union has collaborated with relevant departments to establish inspection and monitoring teams, steering committees to oversee and develop menus suitable for employees, focusing on diversification and improving the quality of meals.

In particular, in 2024, the company organized a "Trade Union Meal" as a sincere thank you to its employees, with a total expenditure of over 336 million VND, of which the company's Trade Union contributed nearly 169 million VND. During the "Trade Union Meal," union members expressed their joy not only for the thoughtful care and meals but also for the warm and friendly atmosphere created by the company's leadership and the trade union. Everyone exchanged ideas and shared experiences, fostering greater understanding and connection between employees and employers. Mr. Do Van Cuong, a worker at the company, shared: "I am very happy to participate in the 'Trade Union Meal.' The meal was not only delicious but also an opportunity for us to meet and chat with each other. We felt cared for and appreciated."
Furthermore, the company organizes trips and vacations both domestically and internationally for employees with outstanding production achievements; maintains a system of visiting employees when they are sick, and provides support to families in difficult circumstances and families entitled to preferential policies. From the beginning of the year until now, the trade union has organized visits, provided encouragement, and given gifts to families of workers in difficult circumstances with a total amount of 181 million VND; visited 9 workers who have lost more than 61% of their health and 24 occupational safety and health officers.
Through concrete and practical actions, Hon Gai Coal Company has always prioritized ensuring the well-being, safe working environment, and health of its employees. This is a key factor in enabling employees to perform their jobs well, contributing to the company's efficient production and business operations and sustainable development.
