Today, March 19th, a working session took place in Huong Hoa district between the Quang Tri Provincial Police and the police of Salavan and Savannakhet provinces (Laos) regarding measures for managing and utilizing police offices in border villages.
Implementing the cooperation agreement between the Ministries of Public Security of Vietnam and Laos on supporting the police forces of Lao provinces in building and using police headquarters in border villages between Vietnam and Laos, as of March 2024, the Quang Tri Provincial Police Department has completed the handover of 35 headquarters to the police forces of Salavan and Savannakhet provinces.

Overall, the police forces of the three provinces have coordinated closely and completed the work according to the agreed schedule. To further enhance the effectiveness of managing and utilizing these police headquarters, the leaders of the three provinces exchanged views and discussed solutions to overcome difficulties and obstacles, and proposed many ideas for the efficient use of the aforementioned police headquarters.
Following a working session, the police leaders of the three provinces agreed on measures to improve the efficiency of using the 35 police stations in the villages in the coming period.
That is, to continue conducting field surveys to propose to leaders at all levels to ensure funding for operations; to advise on improving the internal regulations and working coordination rules of the police forces of the three provinces; to ensure living conditions such as electricity, water, and accommodation; and for the police forces of the border districts to regularly hold meetings and exchange practical experiences in crime prevention and control, thereby advising the police directors of each province.
Strengthen coordination in organizing survey and investigation teams along the border, jointly assessing areas and regions frequently exploited by criminals for the illegal stockpiling, transportation, and sale of narcotics, in order to develop effective preventive and countermeasures against this type of crime; regularly disseminate legal regulations to raise public awareness in border areas.
