From coordinating professional tournaments to supporting athletes in international competitions, VNG is striving for the overall development of Vietnam's esports scene.

On September 25th, 2024, a highly anticipated event for the global esports community will take place: the League of Legends World Championship 2024, held in several cities across Europe, including London (England), Berlin (Germany), and Paris (France). This is a top-tier tournament bringing together leading teams from around the world, held annually since 2011.

GAM Esports and Viking Esports are the two Vietnamese representatives participating in the finals, after successfully overcoming 7 other teams in the VCS Summer 2024 tournament held on August 17-18. After a 5-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the offline VCS finals “Forever We Stand” were organized by VNGGames in collaboration with Riot Games at the Nguyen Du Gymnasium in Ho Chi Minh City. Over 3,000 tickets were sold within just 15 minutes of going on sale, and nearly 240,000 viewers watched the event online.

The 2024 World Championship consists of three rounds: the Play-In Round, the Swiss Round, and the Knockout Round, featuring 20 teams that qualified from various countries. The total prize pool is $2.225 million USD, with the champion receiving $445,000 USD, equivalent to 20% of the prize money.

As the exclusive publisher in Vietnam, VNGGames has continuously worked with Riot Games to support domestic and international eSports tournaments, creating opportunities for teams to compete, gain experience, and learn from each other. On August 14, 2024, VNGGames and Riot Games signed a strategic cooperation agreement to develop an eSports tournament system for League of Legends by 2025, with the goal of jointly bringing together a large-scale League of Legends tournament across the Asia- Pacific region, bringing together top teams from the region, including Vietnam.

Representatives from Riot Games and VNGGames signed a cooperation agreement for the League of Legends Esports 2025 plan.

Besides League of Legends, VNGGames also organizes a series of other professional and well-structured eSports tournaments in Vietnam, such as
the PUBG Mobile National Championship, PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2024, and Valorant Ascension Pacific 2024, through which it selects teams to represent Vietnam in international competitions.

In addition, VNGGames is also a strategic partner of the Vietnam Esports and Entertainment Association (VIRESA), collaborating closely in the selection of athletes for the SEA Games and ASIAD, as well as advising and supporting host countries in organizing esports competitions at these regional sporting events.

At the 19th Asian Games, Vietnamese eSports reached the top 4 in the continent. Prior to that, at the 32nd SEA Games, Vietnamese eSports won 7 medals, including 1 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze. The national eSports team also excelled, finishing first overall at the 31st SEA Games with 4 gold and 3 silver medals.

VNG's dedication has not only laid the foundation for the development of esports in Vietnam, but has also contributed to raising the stature of Vietnamese esports on the international stage. VNG always aims to build a professional esports ecosystem and develop Vietnamese esports in a sustainable way, reaching international standards.
