
General Secretary To Lam welcomed the visit to Vietnam by the leaders of Murphy Oil Corporation in the year of the 30th anniversary of the normalization of Vietnam-US relations. Appreciating the Corporation's long-term investment and business in Vietnam with positive results, General Secretary To Lam welcomed the Corporation's decision to expand and increase investment in oil and gas exploitation in Vietnam in the coming time.
General Secretary To Lam affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to its relations with the United States and hopes that the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two sides will continue to develop, in which energy cooperation is one of the focuses of the bilateral relationship, for the benefit of businesses and people of the two countries, for peace , stability and development in the region and the world.
Sharing the vision and strategy for developing Vietnam's energy sector to achieve development goals by 2030 and 2045, with requirements on ensuring solid energy security, efficient use of resources, environmental protection and response to climate change, General Secretary To Lam expressed optimism about Vietnam's development potential, including the oil and gas industry in the coming years.

The General Secretary affirmed that Vietnam will continue to create favorable conditions for investment and business activities of foreign enterprises in Vietnam in the energy sector, including the United States; and requested Murphy Oil Corporation to continue to closely coordinate with ministries, branches and Vietnamese partners to speed up the implementation of oil and gas projects in Vietnam, carry out technology and knowledge transfer and enhance training of high-quality human resources, thereby continuing to actively contribute to the development of Vietnam and the Vietnam-US relationship.
Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Murphy Oil Corporation Eric Hambly expressed his honor to have General Secretary To Lam take the time to receive the delegation. Mr. Eric Hambly shared about the Corporation's business strategy in the world, in which Vietnam continues to be an important partner.
