During a visit and working session at Viettel Group on September 10, 2024 within the framework of his State visit to Vietnam, Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi wished Viettel to train technology experts for Mozambique.

Viettel is the only enterprise in Vietnam that President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi chose to discuss important strategies on technology development. This is also the second head of state to visit and work with Viettel since the beginning of the year, considering Viettel a strategic partner. " Vietnam and Mozambique have chosen telecommunications as a typical field of cooperation. We identify the importance of researching and implementing high-tech projects, technology solutions, and digital transformation. And Movitel has met this requirement in addition to revenue and profit growth," said President of Mozambique Filipe Jacinto Nyusi at the meeting.

Mr. Filipe Jacinto Nyusi hopes that Viettel will support Mozambique in training young talents to become technology experts capable of working globally. At the same time, he hopes that Viettel will support ensuring national security through the telecommunications system. Viettel has invested in Mozambique since 2012, with the brand name Movitel, dubbed "African Miracle" when it is popular in 97% of rural areas, making this country the country with the third largest telecommunications infrastructure in Africa. Movitel provides free internet access to more than 2,500 schools nationwide.

Movitel is the first enterprise to digitally transform and build e-government infrastructure for the Mozambique National Assembly Office and a number of other state agencies. Movitel also contributes to popularizing digital financial services to the people. The ratio of customers using e-wallets to the total number of Movitel mobile customers reaches 81%. "With Viettel's strong investment and the great support of the President and Government of Mozambique, Movitel will be more successful in transforming from a pure telecommunications service provider to a leading telecommunications-technology company, bringing more benefits to the country and people of Mozambique", Major General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group emphasized at the meeting. Viettel is also currently receiving investment and business invitations from many countries.
