The city will focus on developing transportation infrastructure, reducing congestion and accidents, developing inter-regional transportation, exploiting waterway transportation, and expanding the urban railway system.
The launching ceremony for the 2025 Traffic Safety Year, themed "A Safe Journey, Building the Future," aims to enhance the effectiveness of state management, improve traffic law compliance among road users, and especially highlight the role of students, youth union members, and young people in building a traffic culture. The city is determined to reduce traffic accidents, prolonged congestion, and negative phenomena such as illegal taxis and unauthorized bus stops, while ensuring that city residents, domestic and international tourists can enjoy the Lunar New Year 2025 and participate in Spring Festival activities with the spirit of "Tet (Lunar New Year) for everyone, every home."
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Trung Hieu, Head of the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, representing the law enforcement force, affirmed that the decisive direction from leaders at all levels has brought about positive changes in curbing accidents and ensuring traffic order.
