
According to the Hue City Hydrometeorological Station, at 2:00 p.m. on October 29, the water level of the Perfume River at Kim Long station was 4.33 m, about 0.8 m higher than the level III alarm and 3.9 m higher than the level measured at 12:00 p.m. on the same day. The water level of the Bo River at Phu Oc station also rose to 4.72 m, more than 0.2 m higher than the level III alarm and 4.36 m higher than the level measured at 12:00 p.m.
This is the result of heavy rain that has continued to fall in many areas of Hue city in the past 6 hours. Particularly in the communes of Long Quang, Nam Dong, Khe Tre, Loc An, Phu Loc and Chan May - Lang Co, there has been heavy and especially heavy rain. Monitoring data shows that the total rainfall from 8am to 2pm on October 29 in Thuong Nhat was 129mm, Huong Phu 170mm, Nam Dong 180mm.

It is forecasted that from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on October 29, the entire city of Hue will continue to have heavy rain, very heavy rain, especially in the above mentioned areas. The total rainfall is generally 50-100mm, in some places over 120mm; in particular, in Long Quang, Nam Dong, Khe Tre, Loc An, Phu Loc and Chan May - Lang Co communes, it will be 80-150mm, in some places over 200mm. Beware of rain with intensity over 70mm/h, risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas; widespread flooding.
Currently, 2 out of 3 large hydroelectric reservoirs in Hue are regulating the amount of water coming and going to reduce flooding downstream. Specifically, Huong Dien Lake (upstream of Bo River) is maintaining the water level at 57.97m, 0.03m below the normal water level. The amount of water flowing into the lake is 3,624m 3 /s; the amount of water discharged downstream is smaller, reaching 3,458m 3 /s. Ta Trach Lake (upstream of Huong River) is maintaining the water level at 47.42m, 2.42m higher than the normal water level. The amount of water flowing into the lake is 5,725m 3 /s; the amount of water discharged downstream is 2,420m 3 /s.

Binh Dien Lake (upstream of Huong River) alone has reached the design water level (85m). The lake is discharging all of its water downstream (3,670m 3 /s).
On the afternoon of October 29, in the face of prolonged heavy rain, rising water levels of Cau Hai River, posing a risk of deep flooding and landslides, the Phu Loc Commune Military Command coordinated with agencies and units to urgently support the evacuation of riverside households in village 5 to a safe place.
The leaders of Phu Loc Commune People's Committee also directed villages, agencies and units to urgently evacuate households in low-lying areas at risk of landslides to safe places; at the same time, arrange forces to be on duty 24/24 to promptly respond when situations arise. Notably, floodwaters have overflowed National Highway 1, section Km867 through Cao Doi Xa village, Phu Loc commune. Functional forces were present at the scene, ensuring safety for people and vehicles passing by.

In Chan May - Lang Co commune, the commune police force continues to proactively coordinate with local authorities to check vulnerable areas, evacuate people to safe places; on duty 24/24, ready to respond to all situations, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
