2025 is a year of bumper results for Vietnam when all 5 teams at the 5 2025 International Olympiads including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and informatics are in the top 10 teams with the highest achievements, and each team has at least 1 gold medal.
Most recently, on the morning of August 2, Vietnam time, the Informatics Olympic team brought home 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal, putting Vietnam in 8th place out of 90 countries and territories participating in the competition.
The list of candidates includes: Le Kien Thanh, grade 12, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted - Gia Lai (gold medal); Dang Huy Hau, grade 10, Thang Long High School for the Gifted - Lam Dong and Nguyen Bui Duc Dung, grade 11, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences , Vietnam National University, Hanoi (silver medal); Ninh Quang Thang, grade 12, Ha Long High School for the Gifted - Quang Ninh (bronze medal).

Previously, in July, 4 teams of mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology all achieved 100% of their contestants winning medals.
In particular, there was a chemistry team that achieved 100% "gold" with the "warriors": Ngo Quang Minh, grade 12, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted (ranked 7th in the entire exam); Nguyen Hoang Khoi, grade 12, High School for the Gifted in Pedagogy (ranked 10th); Giang Duc Dung, grade 12, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences (ranked 14th); Nguyen Manh Tuan, grade 11, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted (ranked 37th).
The math team at this year's IMO returned to the top 10, finishing 9th among participating countries.
The winners of this achievement are: Vo Trong Khai, grade 12, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An province (gold medal); Tran Minh Hoang, grade 12, Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted (gold medal); Nguyen Dang Dung, grade 12, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences (silver medal); Nguyen Dinh Tung, grade 11, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences (silver medal); Le Phan Duc Man, grade 12, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, Ho Chi Minh City (silver medal); Truong Thanh Xuan, grade 11, Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted (bronze medal).
Considering the achievements of each school, the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences (Hanoi National University) leads with 6 medals, including 1 gold medal in chemistry and 5 silver medals in informatics, physics, and mathematics.
Next are Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted and Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, both winning 3 medals.
Of which, Bac Ninh has 1 gold medal in chemistry, 1 silver medal in physics and 1 bronze medal in mathematics. Hanoi - Amsterdam has 1 gold medal in chemistry, 1 gold medal and 1 bronze medal in biology.
Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted - Nghe An and Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted - Hue both own 2 Olympic medals.
Specialized schools of Gia Lai, Lam Dong, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Ha Tinh, Ho Chi Minh City provinces and the University of Education High School for the Gifted, each school has 1 Olympic medal in 2025.

This year, Bac Giang High School for the Gifted (new Bac Ninh province) has no representatives in the 5 international Olympic teams. In 2024, this school won 3 gold medals in 2 subjects: physics and chemistry.
