Specifically, Nguyen Khuyen High School (formerly part of Dien Ban town, old Quang Nam province; now An Thang ward, Da Nang city) is overdue in paying insurance premiums totaling more than 474 million VND.
Specifically, the outstanding amounts for social insurance, occupational accident and disease insurance are 400.87 million VND; health insurance is over 42.63 million VND; and unemployment insurance is 30.86 million VND. Interest due to late payments is calculated at 203,045 VND.
Notably, this is a public institution that uses state budget funds to pay salaries and insurance contributions for its staff. Therefore, being named in the list of units owing large and long-standing insurance premiums has raised concerns among many.

Speaking with a VietNamNet reporter on the afternoon of August 5th, Mr. Vo Anh Tai, Principal of Nguyen Khuyen High School, confirmed the incident and stated that this was not a long-standing debt. The reason is that the school recently transferred its accounting staff, and the new accountant is currently reviewing all teachers' insurance records before making payments.
"The accountant should have paid the insurance premiums on time and then reviewed them, supplementing any shortfalls or carrying over to the next month. However, because the new accountant wanted to review all the records, this resulted in a two-month delay in payment and an interest charge of over 200,000 VND," Mr. Tai explained.
Currently, Nguyen Khuyen High School has 68 staff members and 2 contract workers. The school's leadership affirmed that they have instructed the accounting department to urgently work with the insurance agency to complete the procedures for paying the remaining outstanding amount.
