On June 1st, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Central Youth Union Council, in collaboration with Dai Truong Phat Education Group, organized the national final round and awarded prizes for the "Vietnamese Children - Reaching Out to the World" competition for the 2022-2023 school year.
Attending the program were: Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Minister of Education and Training ; Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union and President of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers; Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; and representatives from diplomatic agencies of several countries.
Over the past eight months, the "Vietnamese Children - Reaching Out to the World " playground for the 2022-2023 school year has attracted the participation of a large number of children nationwide. This activity aims to concretize the Prime Minister's projects: "Building a Learning Society in the period 2021-2030", "Teaching and Learning Foreign Languages in the National Education System in the period 2017-2025", and "Improving Foreign Language Competence and International Integration for Vietnamese Youth in the period 2022-2030".

In the online round, the competition received over 10,000 entries from nearly 15,000 children. They vividly showcased aspects of Vietnamese and world culture, such as traditional crafts, cuisine, clothing, cultural traditions, historical sites, and scenic spots, all in English. The final round highlighted the diverse and rich cultures of various countries around the world through the lively presentations of 13 teams from the following localities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong, Nghe An, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Binh Duong, Kien Giang, and Tien Giang.

In the final round, the participating teams decorated, displayed exhibits, and gave presentations in English about culture, cuisine, geography, history, religion, tourism, and the friendly and solidarity relationship between Vietnam and other countries: Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, Germany, France, the United States, Japan, South Africa, Cuba, China, the United Kingdom, and South Korea. Ultimately, the organizers awarded the first prize to Nguyen Trai Primary School (Hong Bang District, Hai Phong City), along with 5 second prizes, 7 third prizes, and many other consolation prizes. The Central Youth Union also presented certificates of merit to 10 provinces and cities that actively participated and achieved outstanding results in the competition.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union and President of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers, said: “This is a playground to enhance children's knowledge, skills, and international integration capabilities, contributing to strengthening the spirit of solidarity and friendship between Vietnamese children and children from other countries around the world, and creating motivation for children to learn foreign languages in general and English in particular. From this playground, children have become special cultural ambassadors to introduce the friendly and solidarity relationship between Vietnam and countries around the world.”
