On August 19, at Nguyen Hue walking street (Saigon ward), the Organizing Committee of major holidays in Ho Chi Minh City opened a photo exhibition with the theme "From the era of independence and national unification to the era of national rise" to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The exhibition takes place simultaneously at Nguyen Hue walking street, Dong Khoi street area (in front of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports ), opposite Chi Lang Park.

At Nguyen Hue walking street, the Organizing Committee displayed more than 100 images, summarizing the developments of the August Revolution in 1945 and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in the history of our nation's struggle to build and defend the country.

On Dong Khoi Street (in front of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City), the Organizing Committee displayed 70 photos introducing Ho Chi Minh City, including the former Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces, entering a “new era,” marked by major changes in scale, development orientation and strategic vision, aiming to become a megacity, an important growth pole of the country and the region.

In the area opposite Chi Lang Park, the exhibition on “Colors of culture and tourism in Ho Chi Minh City” introduces artistic images depicting beautiful moments of nature, people, cultural and historical relics, architectural art, sea tourism... of the new Ho Chi Minh City, opening up opportunities for breakthrough development, creating a potential, friendly, hospitable tourist super city, leaving a good impression on international friends and visitors.

Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City Tran The Thuan said that, through thousands of years of history of building and defending the country, the Vietnamese people have written glorious pages of history with many glorious victories. Among them, the August Revolution of 1945 is considered one of the most brilliant milestones - the greatest heroic epic of the nation's history in the 20th century.

In just a short time, with an unprecedented revolutionary spirit, our people, under the leadership of the Party and beloved President Ho Chi Minh, rose up to seize power throughout the country.

After the victory of the August Revolution, on September 2, 1945, at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi, on behalf of the provisional government, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, solemnly declaring to the people and the whole world: "Vietnam has the right to enjoy freedom and independence and in fact has become a free and independent country," giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam - the first worker-peasant state in Southeast Asia, opening a new era in the Ho Chi Minh era: the era of independence, freedom and progress towards building socialism.

80 years have passed, but to this day, the Declaration of Independence still echoes across the mountains and rivers, forever imprinted in the hearts of every Vietnamese person, urging generations to firmly follow the path chosen by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, fulfilling the sacred oath "The entire Vietnamese people are determined to devote all their spirit and strength, lives and property to maintain that freedom and independence," vowing to protect the revolutionary achievements of their fathers and grandfathers, wholeheartedly striving, studying, working, and making every effort to build a "peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous" Vietnam.

The exhibition "From the era of independence and national unification to the era of national growth" runs until September 5./.
