Over the past period, the Party Committee of Van Don district has focused on leading and directing the work of Party building and rectification. Particular attention has been paid to improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party organizations and members, in conjunction with building a streamlined and efficient political system and apparatus.
The Executive Committee of the Van Don District Party Committee issued Resolution No. 16-NQ/HU (July 6, 2023) on improving the leadership capacity, fighting strength of Party organizations and grassroots Party branches, and the quality of Party members by 2025, with a vision to 2030. The Resolution has been widely disseminated and implemented to grassroots Party branches and committees.
Party committees and organizations throughout the district Party committee have focused on leading and directing the renewal of Party work, methods, styles, and practices in their activities; fully and seriously implementing the principle of democratic centralism; renewing the Party's leadership methods while maintaining unity and cohesion, and strengthening discipline within the Party; paying attention to dedicating time to studying and researching theory; conducting self-criticism and criticism in conjunction with implementing Resolution No. 4 of the Central Committee (12th Congress) on Party building and rectification and Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on studying and following the thoughts, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh .
Party committees at all levels, cadres, and party members, especially leaders, have proactively built a scientific , objective, democratic, people-oriented, people-respecting, and people-serving working style, closely adhering to reality, and ensuring that words are matched by actions. Party branches under the grassroots party committees have strictly maintained regular monthly meetings on the 3rd, completing them no later than the 10th. The content of these branch meetings has been prepared seriously and thoroughly by the branch committees, with comprehensive innovation. As a result, these meetings have attracted significant party member participation (90% participation) and generated many heartfelt and responsible contributions to the development of branch resolutions, all in a spirit of unity and promoting the pioneering and exemplary role of party members.
Party committees and organizations throughout the district Party committee regularly uphold the spirit of self-inspection and supervision within their ranks to identify shortcomings and deficiencies in order to promptly correct and remedy them. This has helped party committees and organizations gain a firmer and clearer understanding of the political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle of each cadre and party member, thereby enabling them to promptly detect and prevent party members showing signs of violations, "self-evolution," and "self-transformation" within the party.
Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Head of the Organization Department of the Van Don District Party Committee, said: The management of cadres and Party members is becoming increasingly strict at the Party committee and organization level. Each Party member is assigned tasks and is regularly inspected and supervised. In addition to their duties at their agencies and units, Party members in most subordinate Party branches and committees also take on the responsibility of overseeing households near their homes, monitoring, assisting, and encouraging people to boost production and comply with the policies and laws of the Party and the State. Through these actions, Party members have become more conscious of setting an example and being exemplary in implementing local movements.
In implementing Directive No. 28-CT/TW (January 21, 2018) of the Party Central Committee on improving the quality of Party members and reviewing, screening, and removing unqualified Party members from the Party, the Standing Committee of the Van Don District Party Committee directed grassroots Party committees and branches to conduct reviews, identify, educate, assist, and screen unqualified Party members to remove them from the Party. Accordingly, from 2023 to the present, the Van Don District Party Committee has reviewed and screened 17 Party members who violated the Party Charter or the Party's principles and regulations, including removing 10 from the Party membership list and expelling 7 who submitted resignation letters.
In parallel, the Van Don District Party Committee regularly innovates and improves the quality of training and recruitment of new party members every year, contributing to strengthening the party organization. From 2023 to the present, the District Party Committee has admitted 138 new party members, including 72 members developed in village and neighborhood party branches and 4 student members at high schools in the area.
Based on the implemented tasks and quality assessment, in 2023, the entire Party Committee of Van Don district had 16.13% of Party organizations and grassroots units excellently completing their tasks; 77.42% of Party organizations and grassroots units satisfactorily completing their tasks; 3.2% completing their tasks; and 3.2% not completing their tasks. These initial results achieved in implementing Resolution No. 16-NQ/HU have contributed to strengthening the people's trust in the local Party committee and government, creating momentum for the Van Don District Party Committee to continue innovating and improving the quality of leadership and guidance of Party organizations, building a cleaner, stronger, and more comprehensive District Party Committee.
