Vietnam-North Macedonia expand economic cooperation, innovation

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet affirmed that she will closely coordinate with North Macedonia and make every effort to contribute to promoting the comprehensive development of bilateral relations in the coming time.

On December 4, at the Presidential Palace of North Macedonia, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet presented the Letter of Credence of President Luong Cuong to President of North Macedonia Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova.

During the audience after the presentation of her credentials, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova sent her condolences to the leaders and people of Vietnam for the serious damage caused by recent storms and floods.

The President highly appreciated the good friendship between Vietnam and North Macedonia over the past 30 years; affirmed that North Macedonia always respects the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and political system of Vietnam.

The President stressed that North Macedonia supports promoting bilateral cooperation and cooperation at multilateral forums, and believes that the two countries still have a lot of room for cooperation in the fields of economy , culture, education, agriculture, health, tourism, as well as new fields such as information technology and digital transformation. North Macedonia is ready to be the gateway for Vietnamese goods to penetrate the European market and the Balkan region.

For her part, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet respectfully conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the high-ranking leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam to the President, Government and people of North Macedonia; highly appreciated the socio-economic development achievements of North Macedonia in the context of the volatile world economic situation.

The Ambassador affirmed that he will closely coordinate with relevant agencies of North Macedonia and make every effort to contribute to promoting the comprehensive development of bilateral relations in the coming time, especially through increasing delegation exchanges at all levels and promoting economic-trade, scientific-technical cooperation.

The Ambassador suggested that the two sides continue to expand cooperation in the fields of culture, education, and tourism, and affirmed that Vietnam is ready to act as a bridge to promote relations between North Macedonia and ASEAN countries.

On the occasion of presenting her credentials, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet had meetings with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade; Director of the Protocol Department; Director in charge of relations with countries outside the European Union (EU); Vice President of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia and representatives of several large corporations and enterprises such as BUSHI and BAKO.

On the same afternoon, in the capital Skopje, the Vietnamese Embassy organized the event "Vietnam-North Macedonia: Strengthening cooperation in innovation, trade and cultural exchange." The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Zoran Dimitrovski, representatives of ministries, sectors, press agencies, diplomatic corps, international organizations, businesses, and many friends of North Macedonia and the Vietnamese community here.

In her opening speech, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet highlighted Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi; affirmed her determination to promote bilateral friendship and cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, cultural exchange and people-to-people cooperation.

The Ambassador emphasized the great potential for cooperation in science, technology and innovation, on the basis that Vietnam is implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, while North Macedonia is implementing the SMART/MK 2030 Strategy.

Deputy Minister Zoran Dimitrovski highly appreciated Vietnam’s strong development in recent times; affirmed the increasing importance of the Asia-Pacific region to Europe; and said that North Macedonia always creates favorable conditions to promote economic-trade and tourism cooperation between the two countries, as well as will continue to support Vietnam at multilateral forums.

Event attendees enjoyed a special concert performed by Conductor Le Phi Phi and the orchestra. Traditional Vietnamese melodies such as “Song of the People's Teacher,” “Drum and Rice,” “My Dear Quang Binh,” along with works from North Macedonia and Europe such as “Little Girl of North Macedonia” and “Ode to Joy,” left a strong impression on the guests. The concert became a vivid symbol of friendship and cultural exchange between the two nations.

At the end of the event, Deputy Minister Zoran Dimitrovski, representatives of ministries, diplomatic corps and guests visited the export product display area and enjoyed Vietnamese cuisine./.
