A world- renowned travel magazine praised Da Nang as “the best place for a tranquil seaside holiday” while Hanoi was deemed ideal for its “simple vibes”.
Da Nang , ranked 3rd on the list, is famous for the Son Tra peninsula, which boasts a stunningly long coastline and a range of beachfront hotels with large windows, balconies, and infinity pools.
The Australia-based magazine stated that budget-conscious solo travelers don't need to worry, as the average room price here is 1 million VND. From Da Nang, travelers can easily visit the ancient town of Hoi An, a 30-minute drive away, and Hue, the former capital of Vietnam.
Coming in at number 6 on the list is Hanoi. Solo travelers should explore the Old Quarter, a colorful labyrinth of narrow streets lined with shops and street food stalls.
Lonely Planet suggests that travelers stop at one of the cafes, order a cup of coffee, and watch the street life.
In particular, the magazine noted that Vietnamese people are very hospitable, so tourists shouldn't be too surprised to see young people striking up conversations to practice their English.
Top ideal destinations in Southeast Asia for solo travelers include Singapore, Penang (Malaysia), Siem Reap (Cambodia), Bangkok (Thailand), and Bali (Indonesia).
The criteria for selecting ideal destinations for tourists include safety, crime rate, convenience of public transportation, Wi-Fi coverage, affordability, diverse landscapes, unique culture, and appealing cuisine.
