Honoring 56 agricultural scientists

The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, Luong Quoc Doan, has just signed a decision to honor 56 outstanding individuals in the 5th "Scientists for Farmers" program - 2024, scheduled to take place in Hanoi on October 3rd. These are scientists, inventors, and farmers who have made many important inventions and innovations in the agricultural sector.

According to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, among the 56 outstanding individuals honored this year is Professor Hoang Thi Thai Hoa, Head of the Faculty of Agronomy, University of Agriculture and Forestry (Hue University). She has completed 35 research projects both domestically and internationally, including international cooperation projects and ministerial-level projects. Her notable research includes: integrated management of soil, water, and crops on coastal sandy soils in the South Central region; and research on the production of organic fertilizers from agricultural by-products. Mr. Vo Van Ut, an innovative farmer from Long An province, was also honored for his useful inventions for agricultural production, such as a corn seed planter and a peanut harvesting machine. His improvements significantly reduce labor costs and increase production efficiency.
