The leaders of the People's Committee of Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh) confirmed on the evening of January 26 that Quy Nhon is one of three cities in Vietnam to receive the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Award 2024. This is the second time Quy Nhon City has received this award (the first time was on January 16, 2020 at the Southeast Asia Tourism Forum - ATF 2020 in Brunei).

According to the leader of Quy Nhon City People's Committee, on the afternoon of January 26, within the framework of the Southeast Asia Tourism Forum - ATF 2024 (taking place from January 22 - 27 in Vientiane City, Laos), the ASEAN Clean Tourist City 2024 award ceremony took place. This year, Vietnam has 3 cities receiving the award, including: Quy Nhon City, Hue City and Vung Tau City.
ASEAN Clean Tourist City is a prestigious award of ASEAN to contribute to honoring and developing the brand of cities with high quality tourism services. Through this, units can promote and improve the effectiveness of promoting Vietnam tourism and the national destination brand "Vietnam Timeless Charm".
Quy Nhon City has twice received the ASEAN Clean Tourist City award.
To be recognized as an ASEAN Clean Tourist City, cities must ensure 7 standards with 28 groups of criteria including: 5 groups of criteria on environmental management; 4 groups of criteria on cleanliness and hygiene; 5 groups of criteria on waste management; 3 groups of criteria on environmental protection awareness and cleanliness; 2 groups of criteria on green spaces; 4 groups of criteria on medical safety and urban security; 5 groups of criteria on infrastructure and tourism facilities.
