On November 8th, the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Department of Tourism announced that the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association (VCCA) had awarded certificates to six representative dishes of Thua Thien Hue province. These dishes include: Hue beef noodle soup, tapioca pudding with roasted pork, clam rice, tapioca dumplings, vegetarian mixed fig salad, and vegetarian steamed rice wrapped in lotus leaves.
These dishes are included in the list of 121 typical culinary dishes in Phase I - 2022, under the project "Building and developing Vietnamese culinary culture into a national brand, 2022 - 2024" of VCCA.

Thua Thien - Hue is the locality with the most dishes honored in the "Journey to Discover the Typical Cultural Values of Vietnamese Cuisine" Phase I – 2022.
With the mission of searching for, restoring, preserving, promoting, and developing Vietnamese culinary culture to a new level, and with the orientation of transforming heritage into assets, VCCA has implemented the project "Building and developing Vietnamese culinary culture into a national brand".
The project aims to survey and collect data on Vietnamese culinary culture to build "A Journey to Discover the Values of Typical Vietnamese Culinary Culture - a compilation of 1,000 typical Vietnamese dishes" and to digitally transform that database into an "Online Map of Vietnamese Cuisine" and an "Online Museum of Vietnamese Cuisine". The project's products will contribute to creating a stepping stone to bring Vietnamese brands to the world through culinary culture, promote national competitiveness, and serve as a foundation for Vietnam's economic development.
On this occasion, VCCA also officially launched the 2023 phase of the project with the "Delicious Dishes of My Hometown" program, nominated by the community of experts, chefs, restaurant and culinary businesses, and agencies and departments in the fields of cuisine and tourism in Thua Thien Hue province. The results of the program will be decided through evaluation and voting by experts and the community in Thua Thien Hue province.
