The delegation includes 4 Border Guard Stations Pha Long, Muong Khuong, Bat Xat and Lao Cai International Border Gate, Border Guard of Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and the delegation of Hekou Immigration Border Control Station, under the General Immigration Border Control Station of Yunnan province (China).
The meeting took place in a friendly, frank and open atmosphere.
In the third quarter of 2025, the two sides seriously grasped, deployed and implemented the signed cooperation mechanisms, effectively coordinated in border gate management (openings), immigration control, combating and preventing cross-border crimes, maintaining security and order in border areas and border gates of both sides, and discussed and agreed on coordination directions in the coming time.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue to seriously implement the common understanding reached during the meeting, focusing on the minutes of the 19th provincial-level meeting between the delegations of the four provinces of Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien (Vietnam) and the General Border Control Station of Yunnan Province (China).
Maintain effective cooperation mechanisms such as: talks, letter exchanges, hotlines, liaison officers, joint law enforcement patrols on the border. Strengthen information exchange, related situations on management and control of entry and exit, organized crime rings and gangs such as: Picking up and dropping off people illegally entering and exiting the country; illegal transportation of money and precious metals through border gates, smuggling, trade fraud, etc.
The two sides agreed to actively support exchange activities such as the Vietnam-China Spring Night Festival across the border, the two-country single-track cycling race, trade exhibitions and other key trade events, creating favorable conditions for businessmen, artists, civil servants of the two countries, and ensuring convenient customs clearance by official vehicles.
The two sides agreed, based on the "Agreement on the management regulations of Vietnam-China land border gates" and relevant agreements between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the People's Republic of China and the joint statement of the two countries, to actively promote the official opening of the Muong Khuong-Kieu Dau bilateral border gate, promote the upgrading of the Bat Xat-Pa Sa sub-border gate, and support the construction of a standard railway project across the border.
In addition, the two sides also agreed to promote cultural, artistic, physical education and sports exchanges on the occasion of major holidays of both sides to enhance solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding.
At the meeting, the Heads of the delegations of the two sides also awarded the title of Friendship Ambassador for the third quarter of 2025 to 1 officer of the Ha Khau Immigration Border Control Station and 1 officer of the Kim Thanh International Road Border Control Station No. 2.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides signed the Minutes of the Third Quarter 2025 Meeting and exchanged souvenir gifts, witnessed by members of the two delegations.
