On August 26, in response to a reporter's question asking for comments on the activities of Fulbright University Vietnam, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said: "Fulbright University Vietnam is the result of educational cooperation between Vietnam and the US, especially in the field of training high-quality human resources. Vietnam welcomes the activities of Fulbright University Vietnam as affirmed in the Joint Statement on upgrading Vietnam-US relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2023. We hope and believe that the activities of Fulbright University Vietnam will continue to make practical contributions to the development of the increasingly growing friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the US." Fulbright University Vietnam was established in 2016, with its headquarters under construction in the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park. In 2017, the school was licensed to operate education. In 2018, the school opened its first class and held a graduation ceremony for this class of students in June 2023. On its website, Fulbright University Vietnam introduces itself as "Vietnam's first liberal arts university" with the mission of "nurturing and inspiring new generations of leaders and ambitious thinkers from diverse backgrounds to serve Vietnamese society and contribute to a better world". The current President of Fulbright University Vietnam is Dr. Scott Fritzen.

Fulbright University Vietnam's Attention-Grabbing Parade

The graduation ceremony of 128 new graduates of Fulbright University Vietnam last June has become a topic of discussion among many Vietnamese social media users in recent days. As part of the graduation ceremony called Fearless, new graduates of Fulbright University Vietnam and lecturers participated in a parade from the campus to SSMC in Ho Chi Minh City. However, many opinions on Vietnamese social media sites have expressed concern about this parade. Some people think that the absence of the Vietnamese national flag while Fulbright University Vietnam is operating here is unacceptable.
